Octant Praia Verde

Top level hotel and people. I now 5 stars, they know what they are doing. Very few hotels in the region are at that level. A go-to venue.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly) had to leave, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The facilities are beautifully designed - modern, spacious and filled with natural light. We were lucky to have a room on the 3rd floor with a fantastic view, which made our stay even more memorable. Practical touches like the on-site EV chargers were a big bonus, allowing us to recharge our vehicle overnight and continue our journey stress-free the next day. The À TERRA restaurant deserves a special mention - it was truly one of the culinary highlights of our entire trip through Portugal. Every dish was thoughtful, fresh, and bursting with flavour. But what really made this stay extraordinary was the team. The staff were warm, welcoming and consistently went above and beyond. Every interaction from check-in, to housekeeping, to the restaurant and bar staff was marked by professionalism, kindness and genuine hospitality. It’s rare to find a team so consistently dedicated to making guests feel looked after, and it’s something we won’t forget. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer due to a flight. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be back if we find ourselves in this beautiful region again.

Another absolutely superb stay at this Hotel, which is beautiful, in a superb location, with an outstanding restaurant- some of the best food in the World. Our third stay, and it cannot be faulted. Walking distance to the beach, and close enough to Faro Airport.

Well, what a find. There is very little that can be faulted in this gem of an hotel. We stayed a week as part of a golf break. Rooms are very spacious, apartment-like and perfect for chilling. Lovely design and style. The restaurant and bar is a delight to spend your evening in. Never felt crowded. We had the half board option and wow, honestly the best food I've eaten in any hotel including 5* ones around the world. Local produce, beautifully cooked and presented. 5 courses meant you spent a few hours dining, which made an evening of it. It left us very full each evening (too full tbh). Loved the fact I only had to choose meat or fish and dessert or fruit. As I'm gluten and dairy free, I only had the choice of fruit 5 nights out of 7, so it would have been nice to have a GF/DF dessert each evening. Breakfast was excellent, I had a choice of GF/DF pancakes or bread. The chia pots were fab. Lovely list of herbal teas and fresh herbs. Definitely good for foodies who are also healthy eaters. The restaurant always felt calm, the staff efficient but not hurried or stressed. More on staff later. Pool is a delightful area with choice of sun or shade from the trees. Hotel is popular with young families, so there are a few toddler tantrums to listen to with over-tired children. If the hotel had adults only week, that would be ideal. I believe they are adding another pool, as part of an expansion - an adults only pool would make it perfect for those of us who experienced the 'bringing up children' years! Lovely walk to the gorgeous beach. Can take an hotel buggy both ways too. Lastly, the staff. Simply exemplary. Whether it's Octant or the local people I don't know, but they were all so friendly, helpful and smiling from the restaurant to room cleaners to reception, without exception. They genuinely seemed happy in their work, were happy to chat and eager to please, if this is how Octant treat their staff then I'll be looking for other Octant hotels. Well done Octant, a memorable stay for our 31st wedding anniversary.

Visited this hotel on a one week road trip across the Algarve. This was the hotel I selected to explore the Eastern side of the Algarve. So pleased I did choose this one! I have a tendency to check out the other hotels I almost chose, in this case the Grand House and Colegio Charm House. Such a relief I chose the Octant! (Really!!) - near enough to explore Tavira and the border with Spain, but what a relaxing place to return to each day and also to enjoy the impressive beach just steps below. From the online presence, this hotel seems much more rural than it actually is. It’s situated in a what can be described as a residential holiday villa community, which is quite strange on first impression particularly when I visited and all of the villas were closed down for the season but the hotel itself impresses on so many levels. 1) - This is a generous spirited operation from the large rooms, the large beds, welcome gifts, free bikes/ paddle boards, and a quality breakfast really seriously impresses. The dinner restaurant is also excellent - I loved the tuna!. 2) The gym is great, really good quality equipment. 3) Great free yoga by the pool. 4) Excellent clientele, this place attracts a brilliant collection of families, golfers, couples and other travellers in equal mix so no group dominates! I stayed for 2 nights, which was a good amount of time. There isn’t a huge amount to do nearby. The website makes lots of suggestions (horseriding etc) which suggests it’s more rural and active but on arrival the only let down was the concierge side of things. I was actively looking for ‘things to do’ and found that pursuit quite a struggle! 2 nights seems to me to be ideal. Overall excellent stay!

We stayed at Octant for the duration of 5 nights for our golftrip. I have to say it was really wonderfull. We had a half pension: breakfast was tastefull and well prepared. We had a set three course menu which was delicious. We ate two nights from the a la carte menu, which was no problem (please give the staff a days notice if you do so, bc of kitchen preparation). The staff was excellent and were very helpful. Thank you for making thus trip memorable!
