The hotel itself is 5* but the way it is run is not the typical 5*, I would say a high 3* or a low 4*. When we arrived, the receptionist gave us our room key and off we went, he didn't advise on anything at all, we had to ask if food/drinks were available and where to go for them etc. Usually in a 5* hotel there is someone there to take your bags to rooms and to meet and greet you but not at this hotel. The room was great but they do not have irons in the room, you need to pay for a laundry service. The room did not have hot water, it was luke warm at the most. When it was cleaned it was literally to make the bed nothing was replenished, toilet roll, towels etc. There is only 2 pillows in the room which is not enough. The food was lovely if you could catch it when it was fresh as the food does not sit on anything to keep it warm so it goes cold very quick, I ate soup quite a lot as this was guaranteed to be hot. The drinks were ok, sometimes the fizzy drinks were flat. The beer was not nice so steered clear of that. The spirits were cheap so the cocktails were not good but the bartender did the best he could with what he had. The bar staff at the pool bar were great and so was the entertainment. As the season had just started it was very quiet. The website makes it look like the hotel has it's own private beach, it doesn't. It is a few minutes walk from the hotel and its just a cordoned off area next to other hotels areas. There is a beach bar, which cooks hot food (chips, burgers and nuggets) for you. Overall it was a great stay but was not 5*. I would stay again but not for the price paid.
