Ferienwelt Kesselgrub Hotel in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee

We just spent a week at Hotel Kesselgrub in Altenmarkt im Pongau with our two little ones (16 months and 2.5 months old), and I honestly don’t know why this hotel has only four stars—it absolutely deserves five! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much love and thought has gone into every detail of this place. The hotel has been newly renovated, and it shows—the design is warm and welcoming, and everything is perfectly tailored to families. The kids club was beyond amazing—better equipped than our own nursery at home! Our children absolutely loved it, and the staff were incredibly friendly and caring. It made such a difference knowing they were in such good hands. One of the absolute highlights was the family-friendly sauna area downstairs. It’s everything you could wish for—relaxing, beautifully designed, and a real treat for parents who still want to enjoy a bit of wellness with their little ones around. Outside, we enjoyed sledging with the kids, which was such a fun experience, and the serene riverside walks just outside the hotel were simply breathtaking. It’s the perfect location for enjoying nature. And the food—just wow! The breakfast buffet is extensive and offers everything you could possibly want. The fact that there’s a 24/7 baby buffet is an absolute game-changer—no need to bring formula, milk, or pureed food, as it’s all provided. There’s also a light lunch option, and dinner is a delicious five-course menu that is incredibly high quality, with something for every taste. Overall, we couldn’t have had a better stay. This hotel is an absolute hidden gem for families, and we will definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of comfort, great service, and a truly family-friendly atmosphere, Hotel Kesselgrub is the place to go!

Fantastic stay at at great hotel. Had a 4 night stay in a family room and enjoyed every minute. Hotel is very children freindly, has an bathing lake, pony riding etc. In the basement there is a big area with several pools, waterslides, saunas where children are more than welcome. The adults enjoyed the spa on the top floor with two saunas, steam bath, outdoor jacuzzi and a snow room with snow and a temperature around - 10 degrees celcius. Loved to go to the snow rooms to cools down after period in the sauna. Restaurant was fantastic with very nice waiters and a varied selection of meals during our stay. Bought a 5 day pass for the lifts and enjoyed walks on the alpine tops. Will definitely return again
