Seldom have I experienced such friendly staff in all areas (restaurant, breakfast, reception, housekeeping, etc.). Pure wellness experience with excellent food at not exactly cheap prices, but it is a treat for the palate AND the soul.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, top room and we especially enjoyed the wellness! Downside is the food, this is very expensive for what you get! We found this un-German. It also made us decide to have breakfast elsewhere the next morning, because the price was also very high. For the rest only praise for this cozy quiet hotel!

Hotel insgesamt etwas in die Jahre gekommen . Wellness Bereich wunderschön! Zimmer haben phantasiereiche Bezeichnungen sind aber überteuert und dem Preisniveau nicht entsprechend… Deluxe Zimmer mit Terrasse hat dort noch nicht mal eine Sitzgelegenheit . Keine Kaffeemaschine, dafür darf man im Restaurant an der Maschine den Kaffee selber zubereiten und erfährt später, dass für zwei Tassen 7.80 berechnet werden. Im Restaurant wurde fälschlicherweise eine Flasche Wein gebucht was äusserst nonchalant ohne Einsicht korrigiert wurde. Keine Empfehlung!

In der letzten Woche hatten wir im Sauerland Freunde besucht, und so buchten wir eine Nacht hier in der Astenkrone, da wir das Haus schon von früheren Besuchen her kannten Check-in zügig und sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war uns schon von früheren Aufenthalten bekannt, es war gemütlich, sehr groß und mit allen Dingen eingerichtet. Da wir immer bei offenem Fenster schlafen, war lediglich die flatternde Fahne auf der Terasse, mit den damit verbundenen Geräuschen, nachts etwas störend. Zum Frühstück: Ich hatte unsere Suite m i t Frühstück gebucht, das sollte man aber tunlichst nicht tun. Warum? Am Morgen kam die Kellnerin und brachte uns ( meiner Frau und mir ) 2 Etageren mit allen Dingen für eine opulentes Frühstück. Von einer dieser Ungetüme ( positiv gemeint! ) hätte man alleine 3 Personen mehr als satt bekommen. Nachdem wir gestopft und gestopft hatten, blieben schließlich zwei Drittel von jeder Etagere übrig und gingen zurück. Das ist eigentlich nur schade. Diese Erfahrung schilderten wir dann beim Auschecken an der Rezeption und bekamen den weisen Ratschlag: "Beim nächsten Mal nur das Zimmer buchen o h n e das Frühstück und dann vor Ort mengenmäßig das bestellen, was adäquat ist. Na das sollte man dann auch auf der Online Platform des Hause so erwähnen. Wie gesagt, das ist hier kein Meckern, unser Aufenthalt im Haus war sonst okay, und wir würden bei jeder passenden Gelegenheit gerne wiederkommen. bdzons
