"The Leverage Business Hotel - Bandar Baru Mergong Review
I stayed at The Leverage Business Hotel - Bandar Baru Mergong while in town for the Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi, and overall, it was a good choice for convenience. The hotel is located close to Lotus, which made it easy to grab essentials or food whenever needed.
The room itself was decent—clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it had everything I needed for a business-style stopover. The staff were polite and check-in was hassle-free, which was nice considering the busy schedule during the event."
"It was raining heavily and my room was leaking. What's more, the soundproofing was very poor. The noise from the cars and motorcycles on the road made me sleep poorly for almost the whole night. But the rest was pretty good."
"We checked in late at night, and the front desk staff tried their best to assist us, which left us with a good memory.
Overall very good. The hygiene level was very good, very satisfactory. The attitude of the service staff was also very good, very satisfactory."
"My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this homestay.
The accommodation itself was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated that made us feel right at home. The room had everything we needed, including a comfortable dining table, bedding, hairdryer, heaters, Wi-Fi, and most importantly, excellent water pressure!
The location was ideal, with food stalls and convenient stores nearby. We also felt very safe with its security door.
The only minor point for improvement was that there were no extra keys provided for our family of six, which made it a bit challenging at times.
Overall, we highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a peaceful, hassle-free place to stay. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would love to return!"
"The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions."
"We stayed one night in a Deluxe room.
Location is close to town centre and eateries.
Room is reasonable size but unfortunately only twin beds available on our dates.
Facilities to place the suitcases and laptop bag is a plus point. Ironing board, iron and hairdryer are provided in the room for our convenience too. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water are provided.
Bathroom has no dedicated shower cubicle, just shower head over the bath tub. Unfortunately the is no shower curtain! Imagine the water on the floor when we had a wash...
Room was noisy, be able to hear next door conversations and TV.
Breakfast is a let down compared to the other hotel nearby.
Reasonable amount of free parking in front of the hotel for the guests."
"Nice experience. I will choose to come back to stay.
We booked a Premier King Bed room which is located on Ground Floor.
Other rooms which need to climb up stairs, I will skip."
"location is right in middle of town and very convenient. restaurants and stores within walking distance. room is clean nice furnished. water temp and pressure is okay. breakfast menu is nice too. really good choice for stays in alor setar"
"I recently stayed at this hotel during a work road trip and overall, the experience was pleasant. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities I needed for a productive stay. The facilities were well-maintained—especially appreciated the quiet environment, which was great for getting work done. Definitely a reliable option for business travelers."

MMaimon TopThe hotel is located quite a distance away from the centre of town but away from the husle bustle of the city. The room was small with little space to move. There is no elevator to the upper floors. We are thankful that the receptionionist changed our room from the third floor to the second floor. There is ample parking space for guests.
AAh YouNot old type Feeling comfy with the full length window make room feel not enclosed the view facing road glad no interrupt by road vehicle sound at all. Only 2 unsatisfied were bath room flooded when showering and many hair found on toilet bowl below( I had informed cleaner to clean it she apologised) and outside toilet the wall have costape n hair stick on it. A bit gross. Sry too busy not managed to inform the hotel staff as we rarely in the room. Overall ok. I will book again this room future hope hotel can rectify “flooded “ in bath area
ZzulThe room is okay but i found some hair on the mattress.. need to improve on the cleanliness.. the toilet position is not very convenient.. the water heater is good but there is no control for the temperature.. the electrical plug location is not at the suitable place.. the rest is okay..
BBadrus IzwanThe hotel located nearby Alor Setar town. Hotel surrounded by many food shop such as marrybrown, 4finger and many more. The staff is very friendly and the room is nice.Recommended for those who are looking for affordable room and have many facilities nearby
GGuest UserThe experience is average. Room is clean and within expectation. We stayed at the hotel 2 weeks before Chinese New Year and there was a night market beside the hotel and we enjoyed the festive mood. A downside of the facility is that there is no lift between the basement carpark and the lobby and thus, I had to bring the luggage from the basement to Level 1 Lobby. However, there is EV charging available in the hotel and this is good news for electric vehicle owners should they choose to stay in the hotel.
AAlvin Yong Zhihaven been staying here for the past few weeks. 1-2 days each week for work. This trip I got room that is quite poorly upkeep. Hope management can check. reception was helpful to change room on the 2nd day. Room for improvement. Thank you
GGuest UserThis is one of the oldest hotel chain in Malaysia since 1995 if not mistaken, great locations at many major cities and places in Malaysia. Staff is working hard to please guests that’s encouraging indeed. However the only let down of this hotel is the facilities and amenities are not been replaced as owners seemed not interested in refurbishment. This is very sad for me as I do enjoy to stay at Sri Malaysia hotel chain, great location, ample parking space, but the run down facilities indeed a let down. Even breakfast spread is the same over the years, such a low end budget hotel. Hope the owners of this hotel invest and reinvest if not this remarkable hotel chain will slowly wipe out from the Malaysia tourism industry map.
GGuest UserEverything is beyond expectation. Did not expect our stays at this hotel this good. The receptionist is helpful. Aircond, heater function well. Only the hallway carpet are bit dented and old but no weird smell. Breakfast or sahur during Ramadhan don't have many variations.
IIrisThe stay was okay but has deteriorated over a year as compared to my last trip in Dec2023.
The room is dark (prefer more white light). This time I realized that there was no fridge in my room. The curtain rail is falling, the toilet shower glass door cannot close properly, and lastly water drainage system is flowing very slow.
Breakfast was not good.
Pros: the room is big and bed is big. Aircond is cold enough.
