A well-appointed and centrally located place. Our unit was too big for a couple but we enjoyed the spacious apartment. The bed was comfortable and the full kitchen (refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher, coffee maker + pots, pans, dishes & utensils) was really convenient for breakfasts & other quick meals or snacks. There are also laundry facilities which we did not need to use. We felt very secure in the apartment as well as walking to & from it. The wifi worked beautifully as did the large screen television. A special shout out to the owner who went above and beyond to work with us on a scheduling glitch caused by the massive power outage earlier this summer. He could not have been kinder or more helpful. He also provided us with rides from & to the train station. We so appreciated him! Highly recommended!

Great room, which had everything we needed, in a great location with a great host! We were, however, expecting a terrace. What we got were two openable windows with steps leading up to them, which was disappointing since the apartment has lovely views. Carlos was lovely, picking us up from the railway station and giving us lots of helpful information.

Host cancelled less than 5 days prior to check-in with no explanation. Booking was made over 2.5 months prior to check-in date. Had been looking forward to staying at the accommodation. Can only speak to not being able to rely on a confirmed booking made months in advance.

The most wonderful host - very good communication prior to our visit, picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, they made sure we had everything we needed. The studio we stayed at was simply furnished but well-equipped and VERY CLEAN! We appreciated the washer and dryer. Location was perfect for going around Coimbra's steep hills. Quick walk to the main shopping street. Lots of great and affordable restaurants nearby. Thank you, Carlos!

We had a memorable stay in Coimbra, mostly because of our stay at Casas de Alegria and the fantastic service we got from our hosts. We were picked up at the train station by Ismael, the owner's young son and were given a quick tour of the town, with highlights about different restaurants with specialty foods and information about the places to visit during our stay. He then drove us to the apartment which was a duplex with a beautiful view of the river and the vicinity. They had prepared a welcome bottle of port wine and the special Portuguese Pastel de Nata. The place was completely and tastefully renovated with full amenities including water bottles, extra sheets and blankets etc. He gave us his number and asked us to call him for any service. On the last day, after we packed, we asked Ismael if we could leave our bags in the apartment after check-out and that he get them from the apartment and meet us in the city center to take us to the train station. He was cooperative in every way and couldn't do enough for us. It was great!

Siamo stati per due notti ad agosto in 4. Avevamo l'appartamento all'ultimo piano della palazzina a sua volta disposto su due piani con cucina, soggiorno con divano letto e ampio bagno sotto, camera matrimoniale, secondo bagno e terrazza sopra. I colori sono molto sgargianti, e comunque in generale sembra tutto molto curato. Appartamento spazioso e ben pulito, con divanetti in terrazza ottimi per un attimo di relax con vista sul fiume Mondego, magari sorseggiando un po' di Porto bianco gentilmente offerto all'arrivo. C'è la lavatrice che per noi era un must essendo a metà vacanza e stendino sulla terrazza. A/C perfettamente funzionante sia sopra che sotto. Si trova in ottima posizione all'ingresso della città alta, approssimativamente a metà della salita tra il fiume e l'Università, quindi abbastanza strategico per raggiungere in breve la cima della collina o la parte bassa della città e la zona fluviale (al di qua o al di là del fiume). Ciò che ricorderemo sarà comunque l'ospitalità e accoglienza dei proprietari. All'arrivo ci ha accolto Carlos che ci ha atteso al bar a inizio salita dove c'è il garage in cui abbiamo lasciato l'auto per 2 notti (12€/notte) e ci ha accompagnati alla casa, aiutandoci coi bagagli e spiegandoci tutto quello che dovevamo sapere dell'appartamento. Al ritorno è venuto in auto il figlio Ismael che ci ha caricato coi bagagli e riportati al garage e ci ha regalato anche una bottiglia d'acqua per il viaggio. Anche durante il soggiorno Ismael si è tenuto in contatto con noi e ci ha dato suggerimenti per i ristoranti. Abbiamo accidentalmente rotto due bicchierini e non ci hanno addebitato nessun extra. Insomma Carlos e Ismael sanno come accogliere i propri ospiti! Da consigliare

Location centralissima, sito nella zona antica, a pochi passi da tutte le attrazioni di Coimbra, ho vissuto un'ottima vacanza. L'host Imaele, gentilissimo e disponibile, è venuto a prendermi alla stazione di Coimbra B e alla fine del soggiorno mi ha riaccompagnato, senza accettare nessun compenso. Mi ha ospitato veramente con tanta cortesia e disponibilità. L'appartamento piccoli, comodissimo, il letto comodo come quello che ho a casa, buona visuale e silenziosissimo. Ottima anche la pulizia. Ho goduto di un buon riposo in generale. Quindi consiglio questo alloggio.
