We made a 7-days walk along the Douro and had one night in this beautiful and really charming house. Ricardo made a wonderful dinner for the evening. He surpised us, besides the dinner, with champagne and red velvet cake. It was our birthday and he really wanted to spoil us. So, it was great to be there. The house is a beautiful old building, nicely restored and decorated. The room was comfortable, and also the bed. Lamego is a beautiful place to visit as well.

Lamego is a charming town surrounded by history, monuments and sublime cuisine. A breakfast routine with Zilda involves selecting the days events, and we found her predictions to be spot on. Plus practical advice about itineraries with hints on where to park a car for free! And while talking about breakfast, Zilda prepares a feast full of variety and tasty temptations. But her homemade orange marmalade is sensational. An ancient architectural gem has been beautifully remodelled to contemporary standards and style, this wonderful place is centrally located and easy to access by road and foot.

Don't read any more. Look elsewhere! I had the most miserable time ever and I have visited 8 countries staying in literally dozens of B&bs in the last year to compare. There was no welcome into this converted terrace & the sleeping area was bizarre and vastly overpriced at £80 per person. For £80 the customer should get the best. The room was not prepared. A blocked sink, freezing cold and no heating in the showroom. Unless you count the hairdryer which had to be used it was so cold. The alterations were the worst you could imagine and totally out of keeping with the old building with cheap plastic cladding used as dividers. There was absolutely no heating in the public areas so freezing cold everywhere. No heating in the breakfast room even the woman there wore her outdoor clothes as I did being 6 layers and head covering it was so bitter. The owners simply do not care about their guests. Breakfast was in a word. Miserable. Hard cold toast. No cerals, no fruit, no cake, no rolls. no thought how to please their guests. A bizarre place. They kept saying I was the only person cold but NO other guests were ever seen in 3 days! Stange place The worst place and most depressing I have ever stayed in, not even a Happy Christmas!.

The accommodation was perfect and very modern. The dinner at the rooftop was exquisite and unforgettable and the host provided a unique and intimate atmosphere. The hotel was in the center of Lamego and perfect for exploring this beautiful city.

This was an exceptional stay. Behind an unobtrusive door lies a building which has been beautifully renovated to blend old and new. Everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Above all is the hospitality from Zilda and Ricardo. We loved our evening meal and continued to be well looked after at breakfast.

Dieci/quindici minuti a piedi dalla stazione dei bus di Lamego. Occhio, però, che la stradina in salita per arrivarci (Rua Olaria) è molto ripida, servono buone gambe ... Struttura indubbiamente suggestiva, una bellissima scala in legno conduce dalla piccola hall ai piani superiori, a noi è capitata una bella stanza con balcone, armadio capiente, WC comodo, soffitti con travi di legno a vista, spazio più che sufficiente per muoversi con comodità. Buona e abbondante la prima colazione che viene servita al "rooftop" (al quarto piano) con bella vista su buona parte del centro storico. Ottima scelta, insomma.

Quelle superbe maison située à quelques pas du centre et du fameux escalier à gravir. Le nom choisi de l’hôtel n’est pas usurpé ＞ un vrai charme. Des personnes accueillantes ´ des chambres spacieuses et joliment décorées A conseiller les yeux fermés. On peut facilement passer à côté de l’entrée sans apercevoir la plaque car au Portugal les numéros de maison ne sont pas toujours au rdv.

Escolhemos a Muralha Charm House para alojamento durante a Meia Maratona do Douro Vinhateiro, fomos recebidos com muita simpatia. Devido à participação na meia maratona tinhamos algum entraves relativamente a horários, que foram solucionados muito eficazmente. Um espaço histórico e muito agradável, recomendo.

Fomos recebidos pela D Zilda que é de uma simpatia extrema. Edifício antigo muito bem recuperado. Bem localizado. O quarto era agradável, bem decorado, as camas confortáveis e com uma vista fantástica do santuário. A sala do pequeno almoço fica no rooftop com uma vista maravilhosa. Pequeno almoço agradável. .
