There was wall paper peeling behind the chair and hairs on the window sill and in the shower, but I didn't ask for another room since I figured they would all be in a similar condition. There seemed to be only two staff members doing check in, check out, and housekeeping, which explains a lot. And probably working on the renovations I saw evidence of, as well. My key card didn't work to enter the back entrance and the front door sticks. It was certainly quiet during my stay, though.

It is clear this facility has seen some heavy use. There are worn places on the floors and walls. However, the room was clean and comfortable. We slept well, and the morning coffee was very appreciated. It's obvious the owners are trying hard in a very competitive market. If I had it to do again, though, I would have just stayed at one of the nuch more interesting mom & pop motels.

Like much of Alliance, KS this Econolodge looks rundown, trashy and very sketchy. As one of just a couple dog-friendly hotels in the area, however, we were kinda stuck. Fortunately the room was not a reflection of the awful exterior. The room was clean, if spartan. Comfortable beds, but some old and flat pillows, unfortunately. The HVAC worked well, the internet and tv were fine. The usual Econolodge cheapo towels of course, and the shower temp control was difficult. You get what you expect at an Econolodge. The "breakfast" was laughable - awful, weak coffee, crappy pastries and get this - dry cereal offered but no milk! Thankfully there is a coffee kiosk retailer just beside the hotel. Hey, it could have been worse - we slept well and didn't get mugged!
