Emerald Isle

A slice of paradise in Kerala. Vinod shared his family home with his guests as if we were old friends - sharing stories and giving tips. Sam and the team are warm, kind, generous people who showed us around the garden, served amazing food, told us about the birds and stories of life in the villages. Lovely paddy fields to explore, local village to walk to, free bikes provided too. I had an amazing massage on site. Others did yoga and cooking classes. We took the local ferry to the nearest little town which was a great experience. I really recommend staying here

The beautiful heritage property is intimate with just seven rooms. It is right on the water and has a lovely fruit and nut tree garden surrounding it as well as a rice paddy to the back. The room was very comfortable with a nice elevated alcove, and an outdoor private bathroom where you can hear the birds in the morning or the stars at night. The food was delicious and served family style at one long table shared with the other guests, so people fell into conversation easily with one another. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Really attentive and kind staff. Excellent service and food was delicious. Host was very informative and conversed on the region, his gardens and the property heritage. Rooms all very unique and very comfortable and clean. Loved the outside bathrooms. Definitely recommended.

Lovely place to stay right in the backwaters. Nice quiet rooms with fab outside shower and shady veranda. Friendly staff and great food. The outdoor communal dining space was great to meet other travellers and share stories. The owner had studied in london and was very communicative and helpful. We enjoyed the Ayurvedic massage and tuktuk tour of the area.

Such a beautiful place! The farm has been in the family for generations and the buildings are full of character. The host is so friendly and kind - offered to show us around the gardens and the beautiful grounds. Fresh green paddy fields at the back and quiet rural waterway at the front. So many places to sit and hammocks dotted around to enjoy the magical views. We went for an early morning walk ***** the water and saw children heading off to school in canoes, a temple lit by candles with young trainee priests who gave us a blessing and we also stopped for a chai in a little stall just 100 meters away. My favourite place to stay of all the places we went in Kerala - loved its beauty, peace and good vibes.

We had a very nice, cozy & beautiful stay with a super friendly family, who serves the delicious traditional & authentic local kerala cuisine. They have many activities to enjoy such as Shikara ride, kayaking, house-boating, cycling, massage etc. And the surrounding area is full of great nature & chirping birds & beautiful flowers etc. We are very happy to recommend this place. 😊
