We stayed at Hotel Algorfa in Algorfa country side it is suppose to be a 3 star hotel now but due to renovations going on and not yet finished it's a borderline 2 star hotel to me which I don't normally do. It was €70+ a night now €90+ a night. A few things we found was cleaning issues and rust and cracks and dirt in alot of places the owner had a crack pot idea of putting a Aviary with parrots and Macaws which kept you up through early morning when the sun came up so no sleep from 6.45 am when they started squawking loudly and NO chance of a siesta. The pool area was hot and the stairs in the pool was coming away from the fittings. Children was playing loudly at times and people were smoking on tables pool side plus ball games and lilos were in the pool which is too small for that. Not a pleasant swim when that happens. Gates to pool was meant to be closed at all times which didn't happen and people were leaving their towels on loungers early morning and over night getting their favourite spot. The rooms were abit filthy not clean outside a team staff member said it's Sahara sands but we had no rain or winds during our stay so they hadn't been cleaned although cracks and rust in places. Food was adequate so we ate out once during our 2 day stay. Wednesday roast is good but roast potatoes and chips were rock hard they couldn't cook them properly and Yorkshire pudding was soft not crispy. We wasn't given a ticket and we had pre booked so by the time we got our meal for our roast dinner on my birthday the gannets were in full force and left me with scrag end of beef not nice although the turkey was ok. I had a free birthday cocktail but it was made with snide (cheap rum not Bicardi) as it was a mojito and not made properly the mint was chopped up finely so it made me choke , I ended up leaving it as it was making me ill. Breakfast was ok but when I asked for butter for a croissant I had it was unspreadable and rock hard also I got jam when I said I didn't want it and it was warm when I asked for it cold alot of staff got things wrong such as wrong beer ordered and one incident on the first day we had a sandwich for lunch no gloves was worn and when making them, there was egg bits and salad stuff on the knife and chopping board and she just scraped it off into the bin and carried on with our sandwiches didn't clean the knife or chopping board serious health issues there!! The shop was expensive too Ice was €2 a bag in the local supermarkets they are under €1 especially in Mercadonas. The last night Karaoke was on and it was loud so we couldn't sit on the balcony or watch TV in peace. This hotel is not for children as there is nothing to do unless your willing to drive quite far. I don't think we will be back although the beds were comfy and the staff was very friendly it was too rough and a bit unclean for us. Just glad to get home to get peace and quiet!

Nice clean hotel. Rooms bright and spacious. Tea ,coffee and bottled water was an added bonus! Comfortable beds with soft pillows! Good wetroom with nice shower. There was a constant dripping of water in the toilet cistern! Outside our room were 2 parrots in a cage which squarked and screeched. Thankfully all quiet during the night but started again at 7.45 which woke us up! Also, late at night a slamming door which we had to shut but it started again in the morning! Steak meal was nice. Steak cooked to perfection and coleslaw was the best. We asked for a sauce to have with the steak but not possible! Chips needed a few more minutes of cooking. Bakewell tart and icecream desert was delicious! Service was very slow but the waitresses kept apologising. It was OK as not in any rush or going anywhere else! Hotel is out of the village and nothing else around! Staff very friendly, helpful and cheerful. Thank you.

We decided to come for a Sunday Roast as our friends told us it was the best they had had. So we came on the 13th April with 2 of our friends. The Waitresses and waiters service was excellent although the soup could have been warmer in temperature and Roast potatoes could have been softer and not so greasy but everything else was fantastic. We are definitely coming again and we even looked around the hotel such a lovely place in the countryside we decided to book for a few nights in June! Highly recommended very clean hotel!

Went for Sunday lunch and I'd definitely go again. It was a buffet style and there was plenty veg, potatoes to choose from. The pork and cracking was delicious. It was hot and the plates were warm. The only thing I have to come down on, is, it would be better with bigger plates as you had to pile the food up on the smaller plates as you couldn't go back and get a bit more veg. I personally like to have a small plate of food and go back for more if I want to. You just end up leaving food for waste which I hate. And I wouldn't have a glass of wine either...it was 4.50e where my friends brandy and Coke was only 20c more. But I would go back, minus the wine.

Three of us went for a Sunday lunch today. The meats were delicious and the selection of vegetables was excellent all served piping hot. There were plenty of accompaniments to go with your choice of meats and tasty hot gravy. For desert we had strawberry crumble which was served hot with custard. It was lovely. The lunch was very competitively priced and the staff were very attentive. I regularly go here as it’s such a friendly place with a great atmosphere.

Went for lunch at the hotel but when we arrived were told we could only have sandwiches and pastry’s. Asked if we could have chips but were told fryers were off but would put them on if we were prepared to wait which we did. Asked about sandwich fillings and were told they were made in the shop and it was like subway where you choose your filling 🙈 went to shop where a very poor and sad selection of fillings stared back at me. Bread here used to be amazing but tiger roll was pale and insipid. Salad was extra to the cost of the sandwich which was €4.95 and served on a paper plate which I carried through the restaurant to my table. My hubby ordered a slice of bread to go with his chips which was so thin it was see through and he had to collect himself along with the drinks we’d ordered. Have been here lots of times before but with a heavy heart will not be returning for food as this was the worst food I’ve had. Will also reconsider drinking there too as it seems to have gone down hill again. I know it’s winter but surely customers should still get good food and good service. Saw 2 couples walk away presumably because they couldn’t get any food.

We have just checked out from a great weekend stay at this hotel, the rooms, staff and service was impeccable. Value for money is amazing and the entertainment is great. The staff even prepared an area to celebrate my sisters birthday while we were out for a walk to the village. Would recommend
