Only spent one night but had we have known we would have booked for longer! This is a little gem of a hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We arrived with a GSD and she was made very welcome. Our room was number 15 it was large, airy, warm with an en-suite wet room and was spotlessly clean throughout. It is also by a separate entrance ideal for taking the dog out last thing! Choosing to eat in the evening we were not only surprised by the quality and price of our evening meal (carrot cake was amazing) but the fact that our dog was allowed to sit with us while eating. After a fantastic nights sleep we had a cooked breakfast and again wasn’t disappointed, it came hot, looked and tasted great and the dog joined us. Thank you Half moon and all your staff for making our stay so memorable! This is truly a dog friendly hotel but please don’t be put off if you don’t have a dog as you will equally be accommodated for as we saw on our visit. Would highly recommend 5*

We stayed at the Half Moon Hotel for one night and were very pleased with the cleanliness, service and size of the Hotel. We were welcomed personally by the friendly Owners of the Hotel, who did show us to our room and did explain where to come to for our evening meal and also to contact them if any queries or concerns. Our room and the Hotel was at a pleasant temperature, we had a view of the garden and also the car park was at the rear where our car was safely parked. We had booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal and found the restaurant was spacious and very clean, there was a good choice of meals and also specials menu. We were shown to our table by the Assistant Manager who was very pleasant and nothing was a trouble for him at all. There were other guests in the Restaurant and it was probably 75% full on a weekday evening which did speak volumes to us and obviously some local people did also eat at the Hotel which does prove that it has a good reputation. We were very pleased with our meals and also the service that we received. We also did have breakfast at the Hotel and found it plentiful and was served to us in good time. We would certainly not hesitate in returning to this Hotel in the future.

Would give 0 star for food if could, honestly it saddens me to write such a low review but I would like the public to know what to expect as it’s not always easy to complain when at places. We came across this place by accident on the way home from the caravan which is in a small village I wish we hadn’t stopped. Sunday lunch is £11.50pp it came out just looking like slop and mixed up it was very off putting. It was also cold, the lady puts on any sauces at the table you want leaning over your lunch this I found also odd. Honestly this is the worst Sunday roast I’ve EVER had.

Helen was the perfect host for what was a difficult and emotional occasion - a funeral wake. She put everyone at ease. The food was exceptional, plentiful, great choice and the little homemade cakes were delicious. She kept us topped up with as much tea and coffee as we wanted, which was plenty! She also gave great comforting hugs1 I would recommend this hotel to anyone for whatever occasion. .

Stayed as part of Britstop scheme when travelling back home from the Lincolnshire coast. This is an excellent family run hotel and restaurant. Robbie and Helen were very welcoming and friendly ….. and the food was excellent and reasonably priced too. All the staff in the bar and restaurant were friendly and only too eager to please. The hotel and bar is dog welcoming and a good night was had in the bar chatting with locals and the owners. Overall and excellent stay and we’ll be back when we’re over this way again. Thank you.

We were attending a funeral and looked for somewhere for a coffee before the service. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We were shown the menu and decided that we would have dinner later and booked the table. Turns out that the wake was also being held here, in the large room at the back! The premises has two main areas with comfy seating in both and a tv in the bar side. The other area is in the older part of the building and has a small seating area but is mainly set out as a dining room. There is a well thought out menu, not huge but covers a good range of dishes. We had a seafood starter to share followed by pies, the lid was cooked on top of the filling, which were served with fresh veg. We both had desserts and the bill, with drinks came to under £50. Excellent value and quality. We liked the fact that the menu featured local produce so not many air miles! Food was freshly cooked to order and the costumer service was excellent! (The only reason we didn’t stay here was the fact that it wasn’t listed on the website we were looking on and we booked a B and B!)

We stayed here for one night rather than drive home in the dark from a visit to the coast at Sutton on Sea. What an absolute delight. The most friendly people imaginable greeted us and showed us to our lovely room. We had a room with access to the garden as we had our dog with us. Dolly received a very enthusiastic welcome too ! The room was large and well fitted out. Everything had been thought of from coat hooks on the back of the door, hooks in the bathroom, very generous helpings of tea, coffee & milk to plenty of shower gel, shampoo and body lotion. The beds were comfortable, two armchairs to sit and watch TV and good quality towels We ate in the restaurant where Dolly was allowed to sit under the table in a special area reserved for patrons with dogs. I must make mention of the waiter Dell for whom nothing was too much trouble and he was cheery and chatty. The meal was delicious and well cooked. The breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice. For a small hotel in a small Lincolnshire town this trumped many five star hotels we have stayed in. Whenever we are over this way in future we know exactly where we shall stay. I’m almost reluctant to praise it any further in case we can’t get booked in ! Truly lovely hospitality from the family owners, they’ve thought of everything. The gardens are delightful and they even grow their own vegetables. Highly recommended in every way and wish this establishment every success.
