Ramada by Wyndham Marcoola Beach

Very friendly welcome. Room with a view. Close to many facilities ie bottle shop seven 11 Dinner at restaurant only disappointment as over priced and very underwhelming.

Unfortunately wouldn't recommend, room was so requiring a refurbishment. Air con was leaking and caused wet carpet and smelly moist mouldy smell. Spider webs and soiled pillow case. Shower drain wasn't draining correctly and was backing up. Oh ac was really loud too. Wasn't a great location if you wanted to explore, more just beach. Wasn't what the pics looked like online.

This would be one of the worse rooms we have ever stayed in for presentation. Very small, no room for a table and chair to work from. The floor was dirty under bare foot and the light switch plates, disgusting. I understand these a privately owned investor rooms. However, it's up to Ramada to set the standard and say what standard of room is acceptable for let and which are not. With the state of the light switch and dirty floor, I didn't dare take a shower here. The bed was comfortable, I'm just not certain the sheets weren't already slept in based on the basic standard.

I stayed here over a month ago and gave them ample time to respond to my complaints via email but have heard nothing back. Therefore I will give my review from what my experience was. The hotel is beautiful from the outside as well as the reception. Staff seemed helpful but did proceed to say my room number out loud which is a big no, especially as I was a solo female traveller. I should have known to request a different room due to this but felt uncomfortable as there was other people around. It wasn’t a one off occurrence as the other staff member said it to the family next to me. The lifts are ridiculous, pressing up on one lift and turns out there is a second lift behind you that turns up but gives you no indication there’s a second one. You then have to be ridiculously fast to get into the lift as even if you try to hold the lift, it will try to shut quickly. The rooms use old fashioned keys and when you enter, there’s no way to see if the door is visibly locked behind you (I found the next day it locks automatically but I had no idea until then). Unfortunately the worst thing about this room wasn’t just the cracks/ hole in the bathroom, it was the fact there was a cockroach that came out at around 10pm that night. The bed itself wasn’t very comfortable but as there isn’t a 24 hour reception, I wasn’t able to ask for a change of room I emailed them the next day but it’s been over a month without any semblance of reply. DO NOT STAY HERE

If you’re after beachfront location (right across from the airport but you don’t hear it at all) with a gorgeous pool and lovely relaxed bar/restaurant on the Sunshine Coast then this could be for you. The only let down is the tired rooms that smell of cigarettes and damp carpet.

Firstly, this was in no way a hotel and was more like a soulless air bnb. For a 2 night stay there was no housekeeping, there’s no room service (restaurant in the building closes at 8pm), limited reception hours, no safe in the room and limited onsite services. Reception closes by 9pm. Extremely basic room with furniture that looked like it was picked up at a charity shop or off the side of the road. The room was fairly big but lacked shelf space or even a chair so it wasn’t very comfortable or somewhere you would want to spend much time. Bring everything in the way of toiletries you might need as the amenities were very limited. There were bottles of toiletries and towels but nothing else you might need. The balcony had a view of a wall and stank from cigarette smoke from balconies below and the loud sports bar underneath. On the positive side, the day time reception staff were very helpful. There were bikes available (though a limited choice) to borrow to ride the coastal pathway which passes outside the hotel. The pool was heated which made it more comfortable. There is one restaurant on site which is quite expensive and not many options on the road outside at night. Most places are closed by about 7pm. It was also difficult to get a rideshare or cab to the airport (even though it’s only a 5 minute drive). Ubers repeatedly cancelled. The hotel called a local taxi firm and it was a 20 minute wait. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

Booked a standard hotel room at a cost of $198. The room is old and outdated. No chair/chairs, have to sit on the bed. The wardrobe and refrigerator cupboard look like they were made with the cheapest material possible and installed by an inefficient DYI person. Ensuite very very small. Not worth the money charged. This is the second time we have tried a Ramada that also has Club Wyndham and both times the rooms have been horrible. Won’t be booking with them again, lesson learned.

Yes this ‘resort’ is dated. But we had a 2 bedroom apt that was well equipped and clean and good value for money in comparison to other resorts in area. Rooms might be different depending on ownership but ours came with additional heater and everything required. We were ground floor with great access to pool, which was great. Warm and clean. Restaurant doesn’t serve breakfast on weekdays but a great little coffee shop just across the street

Well priced for a 3 bedroom apartment, typical Wyndham property, would have been flash when it was new but minimal maintenance. Apart from the beach there’s nothing to do. Very close to the airport which is good and bad. Needs a tennis court and more family based activities!
