Not sure how to explain in words how terrible this hotel was, 1. Miserable & unhelpful staff 2. The place stinks everywhere of sewage 3. Probably some of the worst all inclusive food I’ve ever tasted cold and not cooked sausages. 5. Being charged a 300 euro per room deposit which isn’t explained upon booking the hotel and has to be paid in cash (which they pick and choose who to charge this too) 6. The aircon wasn’t working properly in our room so every night was uncomfortable. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone would barely say it’s a 3 star hotel and definately not a 4.

It would appear that the hotel uses promotional photos from a time long gone. Hotel looks run down , not just grubby but in dire need of essential maintenance in some areas. Room service poor. Food , probably the worst ever encountered on ALL inclusive. A group of 22 year olds we didn’t necessarily expect much - we actually got less ! Would not recommend this hotel to anybody !!

I don't usually leave reviews about the hotels I have stayed in but felt I had to share my recent experience. This is definitely not what you would expect of a 4-star hotel. I booked through TUI but the only TUI rep I saw was at Faro airport where I was given my transfer taxi and that was it. Interestingly I cannot find this hotel advertised by TUI for 2026 so wondering if they have dropped this hotel. It certainly does not live up to other TUI hotels I have stayed in over many years and I don't think this hotel would be a good advert for their brand. Let's start at reception. I had been told before I went on a holiday that the Portuguese were very friendly. First impressions at reception did not give me that same opinion. Although happy to check you in the room wasn't ready (at 1pm even though check out is 11am). We were sent to have lunch but no alcoholic drinks available in the restaurant even though we were wearing our wristbands. Took another hour before the room became available. The room was spacious although a little dated but there were no cockroaches, having read other reviews that may have been a little lucky. One of the chairs was broken which we did report immediately to make sure we were not charged for breaking it. The TV in the room did not work properly and it was only after the third time of reporting it that the batteries were changed in the handset to allow the TV to function correctly. It is little things like this that give a poor impression of the hotel. Now to the poolside. And just let me be clear here. I am not a big drinker who needs a refill every 20 minutes but I do like to be able to get a drink at an all inclusive hotel when the mood takes me. The pool bar is run by one person and she really does try and is perfectly okay once you get to speak with her but she also has to take snack orders and clear the seating area. So although the bar is advertised as being open from 11am to 6pm do not expect to be served for all this amount of time as other work outside of serving drinks happens. The inside bar is even worse. No entertainment other than a woman on the organ on a Friday evening for an hour and a half. And don't expect to be served quickly or with a glass of wine. Apparently no wine is carried at this main bar but you can get cocktails and spirits. An evening bar with no wine. That's a first. The barman takes his time with everything and at about 9:15pm decides to close the bar whilst he has his dinner. If you ask why there is no service he is likely to reply that he is having his dinner and ask why you are being aggressive. Again, reading other reviews I should count myself lucky that he didn't want to fight! There will be no service at the bar until he decides to re-open it (usually about 15-20 minutes). So, again, although the bar is advertised as being open from 6pm until 11pm there is not always someone there to serve the drinks. The staff went on break at the bar frequently leading to huge lines, there was silverfish in the mattresses, the food was relatively the same everyday. The photos down below were taken of the path to the gym, in another yoga room there was black mold all over the ceiling. A very strong smell of urination and no staff to be seen.

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews about this hotel.. 4 star no ! But hotel rooms are clean, staff are lovely, food was ok same as all other all inclusive. We had a lovely time.. yes hotel around is dated but no bed bugs, no cockroach, no issues with the room so please give it a chance !

I genuinely don’t know how Luna Miramar Aparthotel is still operating under a 4-star rating. My week-long stay here was nothing short of appalling, and I left feeling angry, disappointed, and completely let down—especially after paying nearly £900 for what was supposed to be an all-inclusive holiday. Let’s start with the staff. Aside from Daniel at the bar, who was genuinely kind and helpful, the rest of the staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Every time we asked for something we were entitled to—like a drink or fresh towels—we were met with eye rolls, dirty looks, and a general attitude that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests. It felt hostile and judgmental, and it created a tense atmosphere that no one wants to experience while on holiday. The hygiene was absolutely disgraceful. Our room was cleaned only once during the entire week, and that “cleaning” consisted of nothing more than changing the bedding and a quick mop, which did nothing. The floors were filthy—our white socks turned black after walking around for just a few minutes. Towels and toilet paper weren’t replenished; we had to ask repeatedly and waited two days to get basic essentials. We weren’t the only ones either—other guests shared the same complaints. To top it off, there was vomit in the stairwell that remained there for the entire week. No one cleaned it. It was just left to fester, stink, and spread across the stairs—a blatant health hazard. The food was another huge letdown. The all-inclusive buffet was shockingly poor—limited options, often cold, and completely unappetizing. Out of the 7 nights, we were forced to eat out for nearly every meal, costing us an extra £200–£300 just to have something edible. For a 4-star hotel, this is completely unacceptable. The rooms were dated and depressing—like something out of the 1980s and nothing like the photos shown online. Even worse, as a qualified electrician, I was horrified to see exposed live terminals in the light fittings. This isn’t just poor maintenance—it’s dangerously unsafe and poses a serious risk, especially to children or taller adults. The hotel is clearly not being held to any reasonable safety standards. If I hadn’t been travelling with a large group of friends and family, I would have left Luna Miramar Aparthotel immediately and booked alternative accommodation elsewhere. The only reason I stayed was because I didn’t want to be separated from the rest of my party. No one should have to endure such poor conditions on a holiday they’ve paid good money for. Considering the unacceptable hygiene, rude service, unsafe conditions, and inedible food, I genuinely believe a refund is the very least that should be offered. This experience fell far below even basic expectations, let alone those of a so-called 4-star hotel. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
