I have never stayed at a hotel that had a more beautiful, peaceful setting than this one, with lawns sloping down to the river Tarn and large trees cradling the vista. Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with a sliding door and balcony overlooking the lawns and river. I got a kick out of the artsy twisted-metal light fixture in the corner. (Two very minor quibbles: the door to the toilet didn't shut completely, and the sliding door to the balcony had no curtain, only a metal shutter.) The dining room and other public spaces were also simple, lovely, and focused on the gorgeous grounds. Didn't want to leave!
