Having had a spate of highly disappointing hotel stays, Rowton castle was refreshingly excellent. The staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. The food is superb. The decor enchanting. I would highly recommend staying in this lovely establishment.

We discovered this hidden gem by chance, and I am so glad that we did. I almost want to keep it a secret as it has a feeling of exclusivity to it. The castle and grounds are magical, the restaurant is divine and the food was excellent. What was even more impressive were the staff. From the moment that we arrived, we were welcomed as if returning guests. The staff are exceptional and should be commended for their warmth and genuine enthusiasm. If you want to escape and recharge your batteries or celebrate a special occasion, this is definitely the place. I have a feeling that we will be regular visitors. Thank you Rowton Castle 🥰

We stayed for one nights in September during a ‘non wedding’ period - apparently this is approximately 30 days a year. Easily found with plenty of parking. Extensive, well maintained grounds in both parkland and a formal style for the outdoor wedding area. Welcoming, friendly and efficient staff throughout. The property is furnished in a mix of pastel/pale country house and traditional ‘baronial’ styles - it worked very well for us with a dislike of modern/minimalistic (and often uncomfortable!) styling. Our traditionally furnished twin room on the top floor was of a decent size, comfortable and clean with an excellent modern bathroom. Please note that there is no aircon for warmer nights. There is no lift, but assistance is offered with bags. The restaurant is a low ceiling traditional wood panelled affair, and it works very well. Proper linen on the tables. As previously stated staff efficient and friendly, no ‘sniffy’ service here. The evening meal was excellent with well cooked/presented high quality ingredients. Some decent wines available at reasonable prices, with some more expensive choices for those so inclined. Breakfast was cooked to order and to a decent standard served by a friendly team of ladies. The comfortable and welcoming lounge (country house style) had wonderfully high ceilings with full length windows offering great views of the well tended gardens. An excellent experience - we just hope that it’s a ‘non wedding’ period when we’re back in the area!

An absolute gem of a hotel and restaurant ! Luxuriously appointed with extensive grounds. Beautiful room with open countryside views. Dinner was extremely good and the chef made a special meal for my husband’s dietary requirements. This was offered not requested. Special mention must be made of the staff who are so friendly and professional. A truly five star experience.

We came here as a two night birthday treat away for my partners birthday. We thought the Castle, it’s grounds and the food were fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were friendly and the service was impeccable. If we ever fancy a treat we might come back.

A one night, dinner bed and breakfast deal on a Monday for us. Just under £180. Nice room, decent bed, and a good night sleep so no complaints there. Dinner exceeded expectations. This is essentially a wedding venue, and I expected a decent meal but with a mass catering look to it. Not so. My wife had a Sirloin steak that she rated better tasting and more tender than its equivalent served up up in a specialist steak house in Manchester two weeks ago and at less than half the cost. I had chicken escalope. Moist meat. Crumbly coating and a full plate - very nice.. Good produce, very well cooked, and nice, efficient staff keeping us all happy. Outstanding views from any window. Bottom line for us- a great value overnight stay. I maybe should add. The previous night we paid £290 for a similar deal in a hotel in Market Drayton. In the car on the way home both my wife and I agreed that we got poor value for our money on the first night, and really good value on our second night. Well worth a try people, but avoid wedding days goes without saying for a relaxing overnight stay

My husband and I were lucky enough to get taken to Rowton Castle for a night. From the moment we arrived we were blown away with the hospitality, the surrounding & whole atmosphere. Our room was a four poster room large , with a lovely en-suite corner whirl pool Bath & overhead shower . The view from our window was of the gardens which are kept in pristine condition. The restaurant had a lovely menu with lovely presentation , the wine was superb all in all a fantastic night. The following morning we headed to breakfast feeling full but that didn’t stop me eating a full English &my hubby smoke salmon it was delicious. All the staff bar, waiting, reception were so friendly, helpful & professional. This is a must go to place for that occasion . We have travelled all around the world staying at high class hotels and would rank Rowton Castle among the top .
