Chalet Queen

ATTENTION the wellness area only opens in December 2024! The hotel website does not show it on the front page nor was it explicitly indicated in the booking confirmation emails but it can only be discovered by browsing the internal pages of the site. We relied on the photo and description in the “Wellness” banner on the home page; it was enough for us to know that it was there and not what they proposed by clicking "find out more". After complaining at reception, we were told that when they had indicated it on the wellness banner on the home page, people called to find out if it was the hotel that was closed! Very implausible explanation! For the rest, an enviable position close to the two ski lifts.

The hotel is in a perfect position for skiers, basically the Ciampac slope ends in the hotel and the ski lifts for the Belvedere Col de Rossi or for the Ciampac are 20 meters from the hotel. The staff are very kind and always available. clean and plentiful breakfast with quality products. the reason for the lack of the 5 stars given is that the hotel does not have any common areas or a spa, in short, when you return from the slopes you basically have to stay in your room, the hotel offers nothing except an outdoor aperitif but in winter it is too cold. the price is a little high as there is no spa and for the prices in Val di Fassa the dinner is also a little expensive. These are small things which, if improved, would lead the hotel to be the top in the valley for the location and the kindness of the staff who perhaps there is no directive on the spot

The structure is in a strategic position: 50 meters from the ski lifts and the ski rental shop. Very comfortable ski room. It is also 3 km from Canazei with the possibility of reaching the town via a pedestrian walk along the stream. It is very clean thanks to a staff of efficient, polite and professional collaborators. Same appreciation for all the people who work in the structure both at the reception and in the restaurant/breakfast room (Thanks in particular to Chiara, Cristina and Simone!). The rooms and bathrooms are not very large but still comfortable and equipped with everything necessary. Comfortable beds and pillows. A sore point was the management in the coordination of the structure which probably due to the recent change of management (which we learned upon arrival) highlighted some inefficiencies which the employees tried in every way to cope with, sometimes remedying, other times, failing. The impression we had was that there was no continuity and communication with the previous management. The restaurant is good: abundant and varied breakfasts with quality products. The dinners had some problems due to a sudden lack of staff (including the chef) in the kitchen but we were refunded the extra money we paid for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Apart from this issue the quality of the food was good. Overall it was a nice stay but we hope they can test better especially in the kitchen and at the reception, where they often seemed improvised, inexperienced and not precise; an example: in the final calculation they had included 4 euros per day per person cover even though they had already booked and paid for half board including everything except drinks. In short, overall the structure has great potential and is valid but it needs to be better coordinated also because the asking price is not modest at all.

We were with my partner for dinner on Christmas evening... the location is very nice... hotel surrounded by greenery... modern... friendly staff... but... the quality of the dishes is absolutely not proportionate to the price paid ...27€ an angus carpaccio...ice cream..then a veal with potatoes...without potatoes...26€...2 starters 1 first course 1 second course..2 glasses of prosecco..129€ !not really!!!!
