This waterfront hotel in the seaside town of Alassio is extremely well-staffed and equipped, it also has a very generously furnished spa/health therapy centre. However The main entrance to the hotel has two small (hotel name)brass plaques, one on either side of the relatively small revolving door ……..both obscured by large plants. The external carpet is embroidered with ‘Riviera Delle Palme Talassio Collection’ and neither the hidden plaques nor the carpet are good indicators as to where the hotel was hiding. For a stressed first time visitor arriving by car and having spent many hours in badly managed roadwork queues, the lack of signs and clear indications were not conducive to a smooth arrival. Children had been allowed to use the main spa pool in the afternoon (mornings they’re allowed in) bringing with them a cacophony of noise and a traffic jam at the most popular water jets thereby making the area into a large, unnecessary and unwanted kindergarten. The masseuse managed to arrive unacceptably late for a pre-booked massage by which time I had returned to base ………….. the head concierge was commendable for his apologies and efforts to reschedule but tardiness at this level is not professional nor indicative of the hotel’s standards. A decent enough stay but there are plenty of other hotels at this level to choose from in future.

3-day holidays in September with my husband . This hotel is very clean, very friendly staff and ready to meet our requests. Breakfast is both salad and sweet (cake made by their very good cook), we chose half-pension and dinner was really good with always a first and a second fish-based choice. Compliments to the kitchen staff that as we found kitchen also their bar dishes on the beach (in fact we always had lunch there, the first fish base ... very good). We will surely return.
