Thebes Hotel

Had a really great stay! The hotel is on the West Bank of Luxor which is really beautiful and is nice and quiet. It is close to the Valley of the Kings and also close to the nile which was super convenient. The staff were super friendly and helpful! I forgot my phone charger and one of the staff members let me borrow one from them which I thought was so sweet. The staff were always around to help and were very accommodating. Ate at the hotel restaurant the whole trip and the food was really good. Fahd helped with all of the tours and getting a driver and really went above and beyond to make my trip amazing. The hotel has two pools and the rooftop has beautiful views of the valley and the hot air balloons in the morning. All in all I was very happy with my stay :)

The very best place to stay in Louxor! highly recommended! It is close to most of the important sites of Louxor, (Valley of King, Valley of the Queens, Valley of the Workers, Ramasseum, Hatchepsout Temple, Abu Temple and son on..) most of them are less than 5 minutes with the car. The hotel is very nice and extremely clean and has everything you may need including a swimming pool! It is confortable, quality of the bed is excellent and views from the rooms to the fields and the desert is just a continuous pleasure especially at sunset! But the best of this hotel is Said, the owner of the place with his efficient and kind staff. Said will take care of you all the time, he will give you his best attention, will organize all kind of services, car, transportation, boats, excursions at a very reasonable price and at any time. You will be treated as family! The food of the restaurant is delicious, everything is home made, all products are fresh! Can’t wait until next year to come again for a longer time!! Thanks you again Said.

The hotel is very well placed for visits, located on the West River, and offers direct access to the valley of kings/reines, the Hatchepsout temple, the graves of the artisans, Medinet habu and Nefertari. The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city centre. Family ambience or we feel comfortable with a team always laughing and that can help you organize your visits with excellent quality price ratio. The swimming pool and the charming and relaxing area after a day of sun visit.
Spring Hotel Luxor

The worst part of the experience was the noise at night. Very difficult to get a good night's sleep. The numerous staff/family operating the hotel are constantly moving and talking, cleaning, climbing and descending the internal stairs. 1 am or 4 am, it doesn't matter, shouting on the phone is considered normal... The ”call to prayer” sounds at 5 am are actually familiar, nice and soothing to me (from hearing them for years in Asia). The loud street noises (motorcycles, boat engines, shouting and music) I can understand and accept. But the stair and courtyard noises and loud talking were completely avoidable, especially since they were not made by tourists (no keys turning, door slamming or trolley dragging). The problem is worse in the small bedrooms with the ”mirror” windows that face the internal stairs. Double the noise (we had room 555). Of course, I clearly and politely mentioned the problem to management after the first bad night. I cannot recommend the terrace restaurant except for breakfast. The view is quite good, the food was decent, but you can get a better, more authentic (and cheaper) experience in the restaurants on the East bank. Other than this, cleanliness was average and the facilities were satisfactory. The Nile balcony view is nice. Also the top terrace view, sunset, sunrise or hot air ballon view was impressive. The staff does seem to try to be accommoding during the day. I can't speak for the tours they offer, we eventually declined them and booked separate temple tours online, but I did not get the sense we were getting any good deals, actuality quite the opposite... We found good local shops in the area (especially the local falafel and sweets shops) and really enjoyed the experiences and products they offered. Overall, as seasoned, curious and open travelers, I wish we could, but we cannot really recommend Spring hotel, unfortunately. Not even if it was less than half the price... Spent 3 nights here in one apartment booked on airbnb (4 people, 2 couples) in December 2023. By the way, at this time you could rent 2 apartments for 2 persons each, at exactly the same price. P.S. I am writing this at 5 am because I cannot sleep, on my last night at the hotel, as someone takes a loud phone call outside...
Al Hambra Hotel

Luxor is a tale of two cities. The East side of Nile is (historically) more developed and like a medium size city. The West side of Nile is the valley of the dead, so its basically a village, all with crops, dirt roads and horse / camel stables. Most of the attractions (except for the Karnak and Luxor temples) are on the West side, and there is only one bridge to cross the Nile. The location of the bridge is very inconvenient. That's why we decided to stay on the West side. Alhambra is a nice hotel in the middle of a very rural setting. The hotel is nice considering the price you pay. Staff is very cooperative. We added the breakfast to our stay which was cheap. The rooms were clean, but not like a 5 star hotel. There was no iron or ironing board, so if you need to iron your clothes, you need to drop them at a (nearby) laundry store. The hotel looks just like the pictures from inside, but its on a small dirt road, with a couple of other similar hotels. Overall its a good budget option on the west side of the Nile.
Home Sweet Home Luxor Apartments

The owner and the tenants are very friendly. When we arrived after 0:00, the neighbors and tenants welcomed us warmly, offered us a seat, poured us drinks, and contacted us to get the keys, just like a professional waiter. The owner helped us contact the tat-tat service and even went to pick us up at the pier. The location is just a little off, so Google navigation is prone to problems.
