The Maya Eco Village, is a fantastic place to stay. It's tidy and clean. Our towels and bins were replaced fresh EVERY DAY. Plus water is given every day. You can relax and want for nothing. You can absorb yourself in authentic jungle life. The Village gives an overwhelming vibe of peace, healing and nevertheless activities if one wishes. We found it perfect and Amaya, our hostess, is the most accommodating and kind person. Thank you Amaya 😊, you're the best.

We have very much enjoyed our stay at the Maya Eco Village. Away from the road and its big resorts, it was the perfect place to stop before our flight. The garden is beautiful, the birds are singing, it is a very peaceful atmosphere. The host is very welcoming and the lodges are nice. Truly recommend!

I contacted owner via WhatsApp due to a last minute booking we were headed over from Tulum and planned to stop in Akumal for the beach. Over the phone she mentioned she would provide me with a 30% discount $130 no breakfast included mentioned the beach was not far also that she would have someone give us a ride to the beach at no cost. She arrived at 4pm and mentioned the beach was a ways from the property and it was $400 pesos (about $20 usd ) each way. 🤦🏻‍♀️ we also asked to pay with card but she insisted cash however we finally were able to pay pal her via “family and friends” we paid extra because there was still a fee she did not want to pay .. she also said if we pay a little additional she would provide pesos we needed for cabs/transfers which helped us out a bit… from there she mentioned dinner would be provided for extra and margaritas at i believe it was 400/500 pesos a person. We took that as drinks included … my husband and I ordered 2 drinks each (4 margaritas total) kids each had a soda. At the end she wrote us a bill and we informed her we were under the impression that this included drinks… would of been nice to know as the food was good /dessert okay but price point just didn’t match in opinion. She said “it’s just like anywhere else you order drinks you pay for them.” Would of been nice to apologize for the miscommunication maybe? She ended up comping 2 drinks and we paid via PayPal again $135 🤦🏻‍♀️ . We also purchased a sparkling water earlier in the day which was completely flat and open… the following morning we went to purchase a water and realized again it was OPEN not sealed. I take it as their refilling and selling these … something about this place just didn’t sit right me. Although she came off nice something about this place just felt off and made us uncomfortable. Despite all of the above this is a nice secluded property and kids were able to see monkeys! BUT you will not be close to a beach and drive down long dirt roads to get there. Would I return probably not…

Amaya’s place is a beautiful place to stay away from the crowd, and still be close to some of the main attractions on the Mayan coast. We had a lovely stay. Unfortunately our son got Dengue and had to be in bed for 3 days. Amaya has done an amazing job of supporting us, from the visit to the local doctor to preparing an evening meal for the family.

We stayed here recently for three nights. The grounds are lovely. The pool is beautiful and refreshing and serves as the centerpiece of the property surrounded by seven Casitas. Breakfast was included in our stay. I would have liked to have seen a little variety in the breakfast but it was delicious nonetheless. You can also have dinner there if you would like to pay extra. It is down a dirt road off of the main highway so there is really no where nearby to eat or drink. It was hot while we were there but at night the breeze was strong enough that we did not need the AC. Falling asleep and waking to the birds and sound of nature was heavenly. We left our doors and windows open all night. Never locked a door and we felt very safe and secure as three women traveling alone. Amaya is a lovely host and she goes out of her way to give you ideas for sightseeing, places to eat etc. I do not hesitate to recommend staying here. I hope to come back and see her again :-) thank you Amaya for your hospitality!

We all absolutely loved our trip to Maya Eco Village. Beautiful setting, lovely pool and spacious bungalows. Within 10 min drive of Akumal beach but feels like you are in the jungle. Would not hesitate to return. Amaya is a wonderful host who is incredibly helpful.
