Great location and easy to walk into town. The host are extremely helpful and friendly with recommendations and directions! Clean rooms and Delicious breakfast! Recommend 2nd floor rooms. 3rd and 4th floors have many stairs and hard to carry heavy luggage. Location is hard to find if you are diving.

Excellent location in Aix, with delightful staff and an excellent breakfast. Our room overlooked the garden, had a very comfortable bed and very good bathroom. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a charming hotel with attentive and helpful staff.

My wife and I stayed only one night at this wonderful specialty inn. It is a renovated old home in the middle of Aix, very close to most every tourist site in town. The home is beautiful and our room was spacious, well appointed, and clean. The bathroom is new with outstanding shower. Breakfast which is ordered a la carte was very good. We had more of a continental breakfast but eggs, etc. are available. The property manager is Emma and she is wonderful and made our stay special. Her colleagues were all great as well. We parked in the nearby municipal garage as the property is in a restricted zone. The walk is 5 minutes so this might not be great if you have a lot of luggage or have limited mobility. I think you can arrange access to the location if that is the case. We hope to return for a more extended stay if we are lucky enough to do so.

The best hotel of our stay in the south of France. Very friendly and helpful staff. All rooms original furnishings and decoration, but extremely comfortable and practical. Breakfast was lovely and generous. It’s right near to major sites and the staff gave good advice/information about what to do during a short stay. We will be back.

Maison du Collectionneur fully deserves all the praise and accolades it attracts. Hotel is situated in a perfect location for exploring Aix. An old house on a quiet, traffic restricted street, in the historic part of the city. The room we had was on the second floor, tastefully furnished and comfortable with interesting, eclectic, art work – a theme throughout the building. It was equipped with tea and coffee making facility, a refrigerator with replenished bottled water and a safe. On the ground floor there are two compact public areas, a lounge and a small but attractive (and shady) walled garden with tables. Breakfast arrangements are delightfully flexible, you can pre-order the day before from an individually priced la carte menu and it can be taken either in the lounge or garden. The walk to most of the main tourist destinations is easy and pleasant. The Cours Mirabeau, the central boulevard where you can find extensive and high quality markets most days (and often evenings), shops, and bars is 5 minutes away. The superbly well arranged and pleasant tourist office is 10 mins. Two of the main art galleries (Caumont & Musee Granet) are some 3 mins away. Cross the Mirabeau and you are in the network of shops, bars, cafes, churches and historic buildings that make up the historic heart of Aix. This was our first visit and we were enchanted by the vibrant, atmosphere and how well city is organized for tourists. One of the best ways to get an initial taste of what the City offers is to use the Diabline fleet of small buses that serve 3 routes (A, B & C) around the city centre. Each bus holds just 6 passengers and circulate frequently. You buy the tickets from the driver, a single journey of any length costs a fixed 1.30 Euro pp. or a ticket for 10 trips is 9.00 Euro. Our personal view is that the top rating should be awarded where there is an exceptional reason; comfort, cleanliness, décor, location and friendly staff are highly welcome but should be a given. For us what made Maison du Comm outstanding was the very approachable, friendly and highly efficient service provided by the managers Emma and Silvio. Their advice and assistance on a range of issues was invaluable in making our stay memorable and relaxing. We hope this review goes some way to expressing our appreciation.

It’s been a while since we visited but this hotel stays with us as one of the best during our trip around Provence! The lovely owners were so friendly and helpful at breakfast time, and the rooms absolutely beautiful in one of our new favourite places. Would highly recommend, thank you.

Amazing stay in Aix-en-Provence! Folks, we picked AIX due to my wife searching for a quintessential French town before our time with friends in the French Riveria. We picked the perfect town, but this guest house/inn was simply amazing. Let's start with the service, Silvio, his wife Emma and his daughter are amazing hosts and very kind and thoughtful about your experience. The place is designed impeccably, great vibe, clean as a pin, and very comfortable. We explored the city and then looked forward to coming back each time to relax and enjoy the room. I highly reccomend to anyone who wants high end hotel service, but not a hotel in the best provence in that area. Thank you to Silvio and Emma. We will be back. Best, Chad and Christine, Jeff and Jill

This is a gem of a guest house with wonderful hosts, Silva and Emma. Our room was comfortable, breakfast delicious and the staff so friendly and helpful. Le Maison Collectionneur is tucked away on a quiet street and yet so close to restaurants, museums and shopping. We enjoyed the collection of art in this very historic building.
