Hôtel Mercure la Rochelle Vieux-Port

We stayed here for 2 nights but wish it had been longer. Beautiful hotel, so clean and wonderful facilities. Our room was good, not large but adequate. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The pool area was wonderful and so clean like the rest of the hotel! We ate in the restaurant for the 2 nights and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. All staff were very friendly, a special mention to Timeo in the bar area. Lovely chap and very informative about the area. I would love to stay here again!

Stayed two nights here and I am sorry it wasn’t longer. This hotel is very well run and all the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. To start with the room was excellent. It was fresh and new with a decent size bathroom. Very comfortable indeed. Breakfast is well organised and there is a large choice of bread and cereal. Thank you for having filter coffee! We enjoyed the restaurant so much we had dinner there both nights too. The pool is a good size - you can actually swim and do lengths - and there are plenty of loungers. Can’t praise this place enough. Check in and check out efficient and friendly as well.

This is a tricky one to review. Any business can experience from time to time. Sometimes, technology fails. Without wishing to bore anyone with the details of technical issues, I would like to emphasise this: The staff, form the most junior to the most senior were very impressive. The were calm, empathetic, responsive (often beyond the call of duty) friendly, accommodating and thoroughly professional at all times. They were not to blame for unusual technical issues. They do deserve credit for how they dealt with them. This is a great hotel run by a great team and fully deserves 5 stars.

This hotel has been revamped and they have done a superb job. It is in a brilliant position, walkable to everywhere….out of the noise and the train and bus stations only 4 minutes away. Extremely helpful staff, and a good choice at breakfast time…..would highly recommend!

The hotel is in a great location in the old port and within easy walking distance to the train station and bus station for buses to Ile de Re. Room was perfectly appointed however was on the small side especially for two people with a suitcase each. Great breakfast.

Great hotel directly at the old port. Located perfectly next to the city center and a lot of bars and restaurants (5 min by feet) this hotel offers a nice overall experience. The staff was great and the rooms clean. The rooms could be bigger, but for one person it was ok. The bed was very good The WLAN was unfortunately not very fast. It was not possible to work in the room, I needed to go to the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, I would book it again. Parking is directly at the hotel.

Fabulous hotel situated by the old marina, just a short flat walk into town - opposite the marvellous new aquarium - beautifully clean, well appointed rooms - great staff and super restaurant with delicious food moderately priced - highly recommended !
