Stavento

Our stay at this villa was nothing like what was advertised. The photos online were completely misleading—the place looked much nicer in the listing than it did in person. The biggest shock was how far it actually was from the beach; it felt like a long trek every time, not at all what we expected. The villa was supposed to have three proper bedrooms, but the “third bedroom” was just an attic with a few uncomfortable beds—no privacy, no locks, and unbearably hot, even with the air conditioning struggling to keep up. Speaking of which, the AC was on, but it barely made a difference. We also had no running water for part of our stay. The host just blamed it on the city, but that’s not an excuse when you’re paying for a fully functional property. The beach was another letdown. While the sunbeds were free, the Stavento staff were pushy and aggressive, constantly pressuring us to buy things. Cleaning was almost nonexistent—our bedsheets were barely changed over nine days, and the whole place felt run-down and neglected. The only positive was the sound of the cicadas, which at least gave a bit of that Mediterranean vibe we were hoping for. Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing trips we’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I wish we’d known the truth before booking.

Whether you want to stay in this area for just a few days or for longer Stavento is a delightful choice. Modern, comfortable rooms, located on a pleasant beach. Kostas and his team are very friendly and welcoming so you will immediately feel at home. And breakfast is not to be missed - certainly among the very best I have experienced in many years of travelling - wonderful!

What I have always loved about Stavento and has kept me coming back is even better now with the recent renovations. The rooms are cozy and convenient, with amenities you would find in 4- and 5-star hotels. Bathrooms are big with rain shower heads. Kitchenettes let you prepare things for yourself. And last but not least, Kosta takes care of everybody. It’s one of my favorite places to stay in the world, in tiny Pounta Beach, Aigeio, Greece. Do yourself a favor and book that room here. You don’t regret it.
