What a perfect place this is - from the moment you arrive the quality of the experience and the welcome is outstanding. Richard is the perfect host and his staff (led by the brilliant Upul) are all friendly, attentive and charming. We enjoyed the cooking demo by the house chefs who were informative and professional as they showed us how they cooked the traditional Sri Lankan curries. Every meal we had was delicious, the breakfast was a choice of traditional Sri Lankan curries (on request) or western options. The estate tour is a must and highlights Richard & Charlie's dedication to conservation and ensuring that the hotel is authentic to the local culture. Guests were up early to surf every morning with the beach only being 5 minutes away, and 10 minutes from Ahangama (great place to go for early evening cocktails to enjoy the buzzy beach vibe). Couldn't recommend this place more and we will certainly be returning - thank you so much to the Tekanda Team!

What a wonderful, relaxing place to stay! Beautiful lodge and rooms. Amazing food from Rana the chef, and Charlie and Richard are the BEST hosts. The tour of the estate was a definite highlight. We had great recommendations for sundown cocktails and restaurants in nearby Ahungama, also great coffee spots…. Very important for us ☺️. Good walks on the beach and shopping in local artisan shops. 🥰.
