The facility and the room are very nice. The pool was freezing cold, the heated poll worked like that. The food & drinks need improvement. Sometimes less is more ;-) focusing more on quality would be recommended! We had a dispute about the booking and had to pay extra. However, we did nothing wrong and had to show our confirmation again and again. We found this very unpleasant. There were also difficulties returning the towels. We'll be surprised as to whether our €50 security fee will be charged to the credit card or not. Overall the stay was ok, but we wouldn't come back or recommend it to others.

The hotel is situated centrally at the top of Gran Canaria and as such has staggering beautiful panoramas from both its rooms and public areas. It is in a unique and unforgettable position close to a large number of well sign posted walks (most will need either a car or taxi to access) The hotel has been recently renovated and modernised to a high standard. Our superior room was in the original building, was spotlessly clean, well furnished and quiet. The view from its very large balcony was stunning) Be prepared for rapid weather variations as cloud blows in and out, temperatures can drop dramatically and it can be both sunny and hot and foggy and cold on the same day! Service in the restaurant can be erratic although the food quality is very good. The Spa is quite basic and, we felt, somewhat over priced. This hotel is ‘an experience’ and amongst the most memorable, for good reasons, we have ever stayed in.

We are staying in Axelbeach now for the second year in a row. It offers us everything we could want for a hotel: big and clean rooms (basically a small appartment), a beautiful and well kept garden with both shade and sun, a sizeable big pool (with always enough sunbeds for everyone), a very good breakfast (full English but with healthy options with fresh fruits and fibres, too) and all that in the middle of the day/ nightlife of Playa: 5 minutes walk from the Yumbo. One gets very good value for money here. To top this all off - the staff is very friendly and helpfull - with a personal touch. They remembered us from last year and we were welcomed back as old friends. Thank you for your warm welcome Kevin - it is much appreciated! From the base we could not stay in the hotel that we had booked for air-conditioning problems I think I remember , they relocated us in a much better one and with exceptional services both in conditions of the hotel Hotel like staff.

I've stayed here many times - last time in september 2022. The staff at the reception are so lovely, and always give me a warm welcome and are otherwise very helpful. Early check-in, late check-out, room allocation, cant fault it - its usually no problem (depending on capasity of course). Stayed 2 nights this time, shortly after going to my room i got a lovely surprise delivered to the room. It was very much appreciated! Breakfast is wonderful, with everything you could desire. Staff there and in the pool bar was nice and helpful (minus one time at the pool bar, waited and did not get served). Im coming back in July this year, and cant wait!

I am currently staying in the don Miguel and what an amazing hotel and experience we’ve had, the rooms are perfect very modern and spacious when looking at other reviews they do sound like they have never been here before couldn’t have any complaints about the room if I tried, me and my girlfriend are here I’m 19 and she’s 18 and we found this a great hotel for young couples and pretty much everyone as there is a really great mix of ages and nationalities, it is a very diverse hotel which feels very welcoming to everyone, the service is amazing the staff couldn’t do more if they tried, the food was good it does have a variety in the night for people like me who is very adventurous with my eating and the basics depending on what you like, we only stayed for a week but I could see if you stayed longer and ate in every night you would maybe get a little bored as the selection is a decent size but I would highly recommend eating out ( papis grill and the hardrock cafe are amazing, also the tipsy hammock!) the facilities are amazing here and easily earns its 4 star status really hard to find a fault in this place, will definitely be returning
