Stopped overnight on the way to macchu pichu. Agus calientes is the perfect place to stop en route to agua calientes. This little hotel is right on the middle of the little town. Walking distance to the train station and the buses and the markets nad restaurants. Our room was small, room 203. We had ok wifi - not great. Warm shower water. Room could do with an upgrade. Our room had no view at all- we looked onto a square small area . Had a quick breakfast before we left for macchu pichu in the morning.

They have a pretty garden to chill. It’s a little bit uphill but it’s pretty close to the center. The room is clean and the bathroom is also pretty big. Overall it was a good experience. They have hot water and wifi. We can also use the kitchen. Which kinda save some money if you want a private room and is picky with food

This hotel was a low quality experience and I do not recommend booking there. My room was not air conditioned. The window had no screen; so if you opened it to get air, you got the bonus of a large supply of unwelcome bugs and loud outside noises. The outside walls and windows were not insulated, so you were assaulted with loud noises from outside as well as nearby passing trains. The inside walls and doors were paper thin; so you could hear your neighbor’s conversations as well as involuntarily sharing in the audio of their TV watching. There was no chair in the room to sit and read; so I ended up in the lobby. The tap water is not safe to drink; so I got ripped off for $3 per bottle for water that cost 50 cents at a supermarket. The only free option was filtered water only available by the glass in the lobby 5 floors away from my room; not a viable option. The light in the room was dim. Finally, the bed was a narrow single bed of the kind I have not used since my college dormitory 50 years before. Altogether, an unpleasant experience.

We booked this hotel for 1 night. we came with our two dogs which in advance they told us they would charge 20$ each. they are very well behaved, clean and quiet chihuahuas. we agreed and it was ok, even though we still find this very expensive. the staff was very nice and let us leave our bags and dogs in a spare room while we went to machu pichu. We had two very big issues during our stay. First they did not inform us in advance that the whole hotel is under construction and the pool and jacuzzi are used for concrete mixing. They were the whole reason we chose this hotel, we are very unhappy with that. they didn't offer us any refund and only let us know about this situation AFTER we paid for the room. At one point a bucket of concrete even poured from the roof right onto us, standing in front of the hotel. they didn't offer any help, we had to ask for a cloth to wipe the concrete from our clothes. even though they apologized we were very annoyed for our clothes are now ruined. The other issue is that due to a power out we couldn't have our included dinner. they did not offer any solution except to wait a half hour because electricity might return. it didn't (all night long) which of course is not their fault but still we think they should have offered a solution. we had to ask about it at the end of our stay and got a refund of 10$ each. even though the room is nice, the staff is friendly and the location good we had a really bad experience with this hotel and i am very disappointed, since it was very expensive. other things you should know: you have to pay for drinks extra during lunch and dinner (even if you booked a full meal plan). check out is at 10 (no late check out possible) although they can store your things.
