Excited to be so close to Machu Picchu. Stayed at this quirky place off the central square. Hidden pathway into the mountain, and the hotel is built on several different levels. Totally fun. Many different floors and levels. Lots of corners and niches to sit and visit. Nice welcome. Attention the jacuzzi did not look welcoming...needs a clean.

Honestly, very poorly managed. They have no drinking water available after hours, I almost died of thirst in the middle of the night because you can’t drink tap here. Nobody at the front desk, and the water fridge was locked!!!! No TP in rooms. Zero amenities available that were shown on website. It’s a RIP OFF! Clerk was unable to assist in simple advice like where the bus station is etc… Elevator broken and they put me in the very top floor. Would highly recommend staying elsewhere. Gringo bill, you should look out for your fellow gringos better.

I have mixed feelings about this place. And so a Mixed review. Check in was fine and fast. But there were apparently not Any rooms available despite having booked well in advance. So there was a choice between a room on a lower floor with no view or we had to climb 6 steep flights of stairs (no working elevator). Which was fine, I dodo t mind climbing the steps. The hotel was built against the steep mountain. Just had to stop and rest here and there due to altitude. The main reason I booked this hotel was because it had a dipping pool and jacuzzi tub outside surrounded by plants. The photos I saw looked beautiful! But no one advised me that neither were in working order. So much for an afternoon dip or an evening soak. Finally reached the top and into the room. It was mostly clean. Generally kind of had a hostel feel to it. At this point I was annoyed that I was paying so much. But the covered balcony was enjoyable in the evening with a bottle of wine and a semi-view or the mountains. There was a heater unit for when it got cold but no AC or fan for the heat. The bad part however, was the bathroom situation. The toilet and shower were separated by the bathroom sink and that is just fine so someone can have a shower while someone uses the toilet. BUT! Both enclosures for shower and toilet were open to the room at the top. So steam from the shower added to the humidity of the room and, well, the use of the toilet requires many courtesy flushes to reduce any odors coming into the rest of the room. I really enjoyed the high water pressure though. Good for the shower. Breakfast ended early (8:30) and was “meh”. The hotel is pretty in a rustic way. It really was pretty. Just weird and I felt I paid Wat too much.

The hotel is very conveniently placed just off the plaza and our balcony overlooked the plaza and has a great panoramic view. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The outstanding aspect of the hotel was the service we received from Carlos and Joe who were attentive to our every need. Carlos used his contacts to circumnavigate a fully booked day to Machu Pichu and provided us with our own personal guide. I can’t thank him enough for making our visit so memorable.

Dirty, damp, smell of humidity from the reception and into the room. We payed for a room with a mountain view, we got a view to the corridor. Our room was on the 5th floor, the elevator wasn’t working and the staff person who showed us to the room didn’t even offer help carrying the bags. No screens on windows. Bathroom window would not close, and was fully open when we came in, which made the room even more humid (it has been raining) and filled with mosquitoes. There were human hairs on the cloth on the nightstand. The shower wasn’t properly cleaned and there was even floss on the floor from some previous guest. And I haven’t even mentioned the worst part. When you take a shower, water seeps from under the tiles into the external bathroom flooding it. The shower hasn’t been properly sealed. Finally, internal acoustics ensure echo is magnified. Throughout the night you hear guests coming back in and doors being slammed. There are places in the hotel that seem to have a nice views. Breakfast is pretty good. Coffee was up to my standards. And the lady serving breakfast is very attentive. Owner makes some very inappropriate remarks.

Nice location right at the center of the city. Very close to restaurants. Good service (whatever limited they have). Breakfast is as fine - the usually once. Room was big I was given the top floor penthouse kind. Excellent view . I would suggest anyone here with exception if they start bar and full restaurant service.
