Do not stay here. Rooms are noisy and there is no concern for guest safety. The beside wall mounted lamps are poorly designed. I pulled the chain to turn on the light around 0400. The metal housing holding the lightbulb and surrounding glass fell and shattered on my left hand and nightstand. I was cut in three places. I grabbed a towel to stop the bleeding. I went to the front desk to tell them of the broken light and ask for bandages. The solo clerk on duty asked me “wait five minutes”. I did not see anyone from management contacted. I bandaged my hand from my own personal travel kit. Upon return from the Taj, about three hours later, I needed to clean the wounds and rebandage. I immediately spoke with duty manager to tell him of my injury. He did not apologize or offer any assistance or medical care. He only took photos of the photos I had taken of my bleeding hand and broken lamp. My tour guide spoke with him and obtained bandages and antiseptic. My guide was the only person who assisted with cleaning and dressing wounds. The hotel and management did nothing. When checking out two hours later, I informed the desk agent of my injury and that I was unhappy with my stay and inaction on hotels part. I was given a customer comment card, which I filled out with this information. It was stuffed into the overfilled suggestion box. No apologies or indication of concern from any hotel staff member, ever. I checked out and the shattered glass was still in the room. As a solo female traveler, my needs were marginalized. The hotel took no action to ensure my safety nor addressed my injury. A few hours later I sought medical care in Delhi and later was hospitalized. This hotel did not care for my needs as a guest nir did they take any action to address my situation. This is unacceptable. Photos show how hospital bandaged my hand. After driving to Delhi I could no longer bend my finger and went to ER. I was later hospitalized later that day for allergic reaction related to this accident. Regarding noise, this is a popular venue. On the fourth floor, I heard two hours of drumming and chanting outside the night before and the soundproofing is marginal. Do not stay here if you want service, safety, and quiet. Solo female travelers beware, you are on your own for any issues or concerns.
