Ambience - 4/5 Food - 4/5 Food Service - 3/5 Stay: 3/5 Cleanliness - 3/5 Neatness of bedsheets/beddings etc: 2.5/5 (not at all new, not ironed, not crisp. Clean perhaps. but most beddings have torn sheets, or burnt holes in the beddings etc) Room 322 that was initially given: 0/5 - broken bathroom handle. - my mother got locked inside. somehow struggled from within and opened the door. then my brother got locked in inside. then i got locked inside. :( Yes we got out eventually yanking the door handle and locking mechanism. But it was quite a scare to experience. Yes one after another. Room 314 (that was reassigned): 3.5/5 My experience: The entire hotel's room-phone/service-phones are "dead". The lead hotel staff has NO CLUE about it. House keeping staff "Deepak" casually informed us - "oh the telephone poles are down since many days". Wow! Such a critical piece of info and Hotel staff are in denial or clueless about it. What if any sort of critical emergency occurs and no phone access to hotel staff? Can you even imagine the ramifications? Because of no phone access - even when we tried to reach the hotel via cell phone call informing them that we are calling from room so n so and we need this or that - and we waited for more than 45 minutes before i had to go down to front desk and ask again which took another some 20-30 minutes to get done. For 1 simple task! Jeeezzz Louissee ***! Get a grip on your premises, staff and status of rooms. Pros of The PL Palace hotel: 1- 20-25 mins from Agra army airport. 15-20 mins to Taj Mahal 2- Food quality decent. I had lunch (meal + b'fast included in stay) - For Lunch we had Sweet corn Soup 4/5, Paneer Butter Masala 4/5, Malai Kofta 4/5, Butter Naan 5/5 3- Breakfast spread - as one might expect in any typical hotel - unimaginative, functional, gets the work done types - same potato wedges, idli, dosa, omelette, bread, poha, alu curry, paratha, cookies, tea coffee - b'fast was decent. 4- Housekeeping staff - Deepak. Amazing speed. Amazing dedication. I definitely tipped him. 5- Front desk staff Mr Raju & on duty Manager Miss ? (sorry i forget her name, tall lady) - Thank you for immediately addressing the fault in room 322 and reassigning room 314 to us after double checking that the bathroom door was functioning. Much appreciated.
