Santa Marina Unique Hotel

The hotel is in a perfect location, within walking distance to the city of Agios Nikolaos and a number of beaches. It is situated in a quiet location but also very central. There is a municipal parking 1 min from the hotel with reasonable prices. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast with very big variety and good quality of products.

I had bad experience. I paid a lot for room in this hotel, and expected that price will meet my expectations, but it was quite the opposite . The room was poorly cleaned and my view was horrible.. literally it was claustrophobic. Stuff in the lobby said that this period is peak of the season and that I should spend more time outside!!! Never again

Trusting the Reviews and staying at 4 Star rated Hotels when holidaying overseas, we were looking forward to Agios Nicholas in Crete booked August 2024, staying at Santa Marina Unique Hotel. A positive was the location. Upon entering Reception the area was uncomfortably hot as were all other areas of Hotel, similar to outside temperature. Staff and guests were madly fanning themselves. The air conditioning in rooms was very noisy and preset, non adjustable temp close to 30 degrees. The toilet struggled to flush. The bathtub/shower was very tight as it was a child’s size. Breakfast was an experience. Bain-marie lights being turned off and trays being returned to kitchen, before the 9.30am end time. Requesting yoghurt and being queried why we wanted more. Hard boiled eggs, boiled the night before and cold from fridge were on offer. I requested use of an iron and was told to come and pick it up as it was not the hotels’ job to bring it to the room. This is the first time we were disappointed with our hotel stay. This is not a 4 star Hotel and needs to be re-rated.

Stayed for a week and I enjoyed location and atmosphere a lot. This is a family run hotel, so it definitely feels different. Staff is very helpful and polite, I can definitely recommend. Town center, seafront walk and the beach is at your doorstep !

My stay at santa marina unique hotel was indeed as the name says unique. With great local cuisine, fresh products everyday and a lovely service it is definitely one of the best hotels in the area. The buffet has a broad variety of meals for everyone (including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free) and will not disappoint. There were homemade baked goods everyday which were delicious. Would for sure visit again!!!
