Vasia Ormos Hotel (Adults Only)

We stayed here for a week, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and the cleaners were absolutely fantastic, the rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard. The 2 pools are on the smaller side but very quiet with plenty of sunbeds available. The hotel is located a 25 minute stroll from the town centre, enjoyable in the evening but would be tough during the heat of the day. Taxis are available from receptions, and cost about 7/8 euro each way. There is a large shop a 5 minute walk away that had everything we needed. The beach attached to the hotel was small and quiet, with plenty of sunbeds available. We rented a car out through the hotel, and this was an easy process that didn't require a deposit, we would highly recommend. The breakfast buffet was great, with plenty of options. However, we were disappointed with the dinner buffet options. We ate here on the first night and didn't enjoy the food, so instead opted to walk into town and eat dinner at the tavernas here instead. The snack bar at the pool is also very expensive, 7 euros for a small domestic beer, and 16 euros for a basic sandwich. We would recommend buying drinks and food from the local shop, as there is a fridge in the room. The staff we incredibly friendly and helpful, we can't fault them. We would definitely stay here again. One of our favourite parts of our trip was a tour of the olive oil farm located 10 minutes from the hotel, which was only 7 euro per person, and included a tasting of the products. Overall, we would recommend this hotel highly, but we suggest opting for the bed and breakfast option, and exploring the local restaurants instead.

We selected Vasio Ormos to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Well presented hotel in an outstanding location. The manager and professional friendly staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay very special. An ideal choice for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. We went B&B and the hotel staff were happy to recommend amazing local tavernas and beaches. The pools aren’t huge but the vibe is relaxed and easy going. Easy walk or drive into Ag Nic and if you get a room with a balcony your mornings and evening views are spectacular.

The hotel was excellent, staff were so friendly and helpful, high standard of cleanliness and location was first class. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed, the poll was first class, breakfast was excellent, rooms were super and public areas were well presented.

Have just returned home from a week at Vasio Ormos. Nice hotel, beautiful gardens, pleasant staff, clean rooms and delicious breakfast. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so can't comment on that. Pool bar very expensive and rooms small but overall a nice place to stay.

Unfortunately we had the misfortune to stay at this hotel having had a wonderful stay in nearby Elounda. The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment especially in the two pool areas. We opted for a full sea view room which was in the old block ( room 220) and at close to €200 per night was overpriced when compared to our previous stay in Elounda. Poorly located with at least a half hours walk to the lake in what for us was a rundown part of Agios . Only redeeming features were the well kept gardens, decent breakfast and 2 good taverna's near by . There are much better options elsewhere and this one is one to avoid unless your expectations are low and you are able to achieve a far lower room rate through one of the tour operators. We made the mistake of booking directly with the hotel and paid the price for it .
