Vasia Ormos Hotel (Adults Only)

Lovely hotel we are on our last couple of days we booked 10 days on B&B. The room is nice and spacious room 228 it’s on the back and very quiet, a sea view would have been nice but it’s not spoilt our holiday at all. The beds and pillows very comfy and air con works really well, we had to turn it up. There’s a fridge that you can fit a few large bottles of water in it. Kettle etc and replenishment of tea and coffee daily. Breakfast lots of choice and friendly staff, the cleaners are very friendly and the rooms kept spotless every day the hotel is clean throughout. The snack bar does lovely fruit smoothies and snacks that are huge we ended up sharing our lunches. We don’t drink so can’t comment on prices. There a supermarket just up the hill 5 min walk. Eirini on reception is really helpful and helped me sort out a massage locally which was wonderful I went there twice. There are two pools and plenty of Sunbeds, the small beach is opposite the hotel that has sun beds. I’ve read some reviews where people are moaning but we can’t fault it for what you pay, there are hotels nearby almost double the price. We walked into the centre of Agios every night it takes about 35 mins or quicker if you walk fast or it’s €7 for a taxi Restaurants I’d recommend are Kri Kri just up the road, Avra up the end of the road by the roundabout, Christophillys, Piata and Skala by the Lake there’s loads more but that’s all we tried and went back twice to them all. We are thinking of coming back next year. Only criticism would be I couldn’t get BBC world news on TV but that’s not the end of the world there were other English speaking news channels I tried re tuning TV but couldn’t be bothered in the end it’s sometimes nice to be switched off from home.

Stayed for two weeks, great overall, all the staff were excellent special mentions for Maria, Ersi (nickname Dangerous), Stefanos, Donnabelle and Christina of housekeeping. Couldn’t have been more helpful and obliging, making our stay that much more enjoyable. The food was pretty good on the whole and considerably better than some of the restaurants in the town, good selection for breakfast and dinner. Great views from the dining room. Our room was a superior with side sea view, it was a good size with nice half view of the ocean, although the tree was starting to encroach on the vista. Christina kept the room tip-top. The only downside was the extremely noisy air conditioning for our room and the one next door plus the ventilation duct from the kitchens below us, We had to vacate our room on the last day by noon and we’re given the use of a room in the new block, this was a bit smaller to say the least, would have been a bit cramped for two weeks especially the shower, but the air conditioning was newer and a lot quieter. Definitely worth paying the extra for the superior rooms. Plenty of sun-beds no problem finding one especially by the pool behind the new block (other pool behind main building )although pool steps did fall off as they weren’t fitting correctly and they were put back and still weren’t fitting against the side wall of pool. Easy access to the town , 30 minute walk, 7 euros by taxi also on the bus route 2 euros bus stop being about 100 metres away. Downside was the transfer time about 2.5hours from the airport , if you book a private transfer this will greatly shorten the travel time. Very relaxing and easy going holiday, we would go back again so that speaks volumes.

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful little bay with a little beach just iver the road where you can swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea -a few lovely restaurants nearby and only 15 mins walk into Agios Nikolaos with lots of tavernas on the walk in with supermarkets both sides of the hotel a few mins walk away Would recommend Amoodi and KriKri on the way to town and in the other direction would recommend Diognesis but not Stavros - food not great there Hotel breakfast ok evening meal we paid for but ate out as it was not very good and drinks in hotel are really expensive we went to the supermarket for our drinks Clean friendly staff really helpful and peaceful lots of sun beds available -worth a visit

Very nice hotel, rooms comfy and clean, pool area nice and good sunbeds. Staff nice. Breakfast can’t be faulted. Downside was the price of the drinks at the pool bar/bar, overpriced. I’d suggest the owner reduces them and has the bar staff do poolside service and the owner would benefit £. Most people walked to little supermarket 10 mins up the hill and bought in. I’d also suggest little sun bed tables. Beach opposite is ok but is more a little boat bay and there’s a play area beside it. Nearest beach is a walk away as hotels have locked off access to many! Nice pub The Galley near by with friendly owners. Two other tavernas were disappointing food wise! Otherwise it’s a trip into main town 20-30 min walk or 7€ taxi. We hired a car for a day and stopped at a lovely panoramic view taverna in the mountains then down to Silia for best meal we had.

went with my brother for his first trip abroad Nice hotel not to big we were on bed and breakfast as wanted my brother to experience the real Greece Rooms, are little bit small but nicely decorated and everything was in good condition. Food, breakfast was of a good standard not a big selection but good enough. Staff, very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet break

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the lady who cleaned our room was amazing. The public areas, pool and surrounding areas were very clean, and we really appreciated the provision of daily beach towels. We stayed half board and the food was amazing - buffet offerings at breakfast and evening meal. A HUGE selection of yummy fresh food, with none of the tedious repetitive food offerings we've had at some hotels. When we arrived we were given a really noisy room - the extraction system ran up the side of our exterior wall and across the roof above. The noise & vibration were awful. The hotel owner was great, and moved us to a lovely, quiet room the following morning. Minor niggles are lack of shelves/ storage space in the bedroom and bathroom..this would be so easy to resolve. Also, the drinks in the bar, restaurant & pool bar were really expensive. This is a shame as the surroundings are lovely. We really enjoyed our stay though. There is a service bus and taxi rank just outside the hotel. Service buses are great: air conditioned and so cheap..only 2 euros to Elounda, Plaka or into Agios Nikolaos (although we usually walked there and back). We recommend taking the boat from Plaka to Spinalonga as early as possible, as it gets really busy. Take water!! Can also highly recommend going from the bus station to beautifu Kritsa..also only 2 euros! If you're looking for a couples holiday - Vasio Ormos will hit the spot.
