Tasmania Village

We have just returned from yet another amazing holiday staying at the Tasmania Village. Everything about it is fabulous but what makes it so special is the wonderful family who give such a lovely warm welcome to both repeat and first time visitors and go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful time. It is just on the outskirts of Elounda but it is a lovely flat walk along the seafront and you can always get a taxi back at a very reasonable cost. Yes there is a bit of a hill this is mentioned in other reviews/website and the photos and description also show this but without the hill you wouldn't have the wonderful views. If mobility is a bit of an issue there are also studios at the bottom of the accommodation below the swimming pool. The cafe bar is great for snacks, meals and drinks and the food is lovely. The swimming pool is gorgeous and you can always get a sunbed without any problems I hope to return again next year to beautiful Elounda and the wonderful Tasmania Village. It's one very special place

As returning guests, we obviously love the place and people. We had room 36, right at the top and the view is spectacular, the hill is very steep but as a relatively unfit 61 year old, so long as you zigzag up the walk is fine. This place is totally perfect if you want a very relaxing time. If you expect 5 star facilities then this is not for you but if you want good food, wonderful owners, fantastic views, brilliant balconies and comfortable rooms, definitely book here. Can't wait for next year

Tasmania Village is a wonderful place to stay with views to die for. The hosts are brilliant, Anna and her family can’t do enough for you. They are so friendly and always on hand with advice about the local area etc. we stayed in apartments at the very top of the hill, its steep but as long as you are aware of this its not an issue. If you require something lower down there are studios just a short flight of stairs from the entrance. The cleanliness is top notch. The pool is a good size and has a nice deep end for jumping in to cool off. Plenty of sunbeds available, never had a problem. Rooms are a good size and equipped well for the price. The pool bar is reasonably priced and serves some delicious snacks. Positioned between Elounda and Plaka, it’s a 20 min walk into the centre of Elounda and 35 to Plaka the other way. It’s flat but there is a paved footpath all the way to Elounda. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Basic accommodation in lovely area. Clean and spacious, but no microwave and few utensils. Our real grievance was that TUI had advertised this as an apartment with sofa bed in the lounge. In fact it was a single room (studio) which was NOT what we wanted or expected. Be warned that supermarkets, restaurants etc are a 25 minute walk in either direction. (However they do sell bottled water on site at a reasonable price). Also that the incline to the upper accommodation is VERY steep. We didn't use the bar or pool, so can't comment on these.

We stayed at Tasmania Village for a week in early October. The apartments are spotlessly clean as is the cafe and pool area. Yes there is a steep hill, however you know this in advance so it is no surprise. Maria cooked lovely food and was so delightful, telling us about the history of the resort and all about her family. A very interesting, lovely lady who had time for everyone. When we next visit Elounda we will definitely stay at Tasmania Village, can't wait. Wendy & Mark, Northern Ireland. xx

Just returned few days ago from a 2 week stay in the tasmania village....we have stayed in Elounda many times but our first time in tasmania village .....well what can I say ... Maria. George and their son Yianni are the friendliest ,most welcoming hosts....nothing ever too much trouble for them. Their apartments are the most spacious we have ever stayed in and although they are located on a steep hill, every step is worth it for the fabulous view ... We stayed in no 35 which was right at the top of the hill ....we had a large living area/ kitchenette ...had everything you needed . Plus a large bedroom with a door leading out onto the balcony , which was huge ... lovely to sit out on the morning for breakfast and coffee and in the evening .... We met lots of people who were return visitors and new visitors alike ....Maria and George treated everyone exactly the same ....loving to have a chat with everyone. Thank u Maria , George and Yianni for a fantastic 2 weeks . Hopefully we will see you again next year
