LLim familyIt’s a bit hard to get to the hotel from bus terminal if u have luggage with u as it’s a downslope to get to the hotel. There’s also isn’t any lift in the hotel so we have to carry our luggage up to the second floor. We realised when we checked out that there’s actually locker for the luggage at the ground floor. There’s only one type of water in their public onsen which is kind of disappointing as we have high expectations since it is an onsen town. The onsen water however is good. We do feel some difference before and after onsen. There’s also free coffee & hot chocolate drinks right outside the onsen area. It would be better if there’s ice water in the onsen area as the water can get very hot & especially when there’s no cold tub there. The room however is spacious with comfortable bed. There’s also a foot bath located at the ground floor of the hotel right beside the breakfast area.

KKidddThe hot spring hotel is very close to Yubatake. The Yubatake is beautiful at night. The hotel's Keishi cuisine is delicious and well presented. There is also a QR code for breakfast and dinner to let you scan and explain what each dish is. They are very attentive. The hot springs are also very comfortable. They are switched between morning and evening, so you can soak in the hot springs on both sides. The waiters were very nice and provided warm hospitality. I will definitely stay here again next time I have the opportunity.

YYeung NicoleNo towels are provided in the public hot spring places and needa to bring from room to the onsen spot. Asked the staff about the routes from Kusatsu to Shinjuku and they have no clue at all. Finally got one English speaking staff told us that theres direct bus from the station to Shinjuku. Asked again whether advanced booking of the bus tickets are needed and the staff said it’s not necessary. We ended up the next day missed two earlier buses coz they were already full and we were reluctant to have 2 times transport changes by asking the tourism information centre. Barely staffs can speak and understand English well. However, the French set dinner are really nice and out of our expectations.

KKN*We had a fantastic stay at Tokinoniwa. The traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the amenities were so complete that all we needed was a change of clothes! Our room had a private onsen, and we could also reserve a lovely public onsen. The only minor drawback is the distance from the bus terminal, with the last shuttle running at 6pm. Despite this, it’s a perfect spot for a relaxing and authentic onsen experience. We regret not extending. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserLocation is good, easier accessible from the bus station and within 3 minutes walk from the Yubatake. But it is surrounded by construction and therefore the view is not attractive. Service quality is good, staff are friendly, helpful and responsive. Food quality overall is fine. Yet tradition Japanese cuisine would make the experience of an onsen vacation whole more than fusion cuisine. Choice of onsen is limited versus the price level. Only 1 public bath is available. The 4 rental baths add more to the range of choice but they are quite quickly occupied.

LLouisdieuAfter changing the room, the room is particularly spacious, bright, comfortable and warm. The room faces the river, and the sound of gurgling water can relieve stress. The location of the hotel recommends driving. All guests in the hotel are required to leave their outdoor shoes in the locker in front of the hotel lobby, which makes the hotel look very clean.

KKyo,If you walk for about 5 minutes from the Kusatsu Onsen bus stop, you will see the Kusatsu Onsen main street Yubatake, and this is a hot spring inn located right behind the Yubatake. The facilities look quite old, but the interior is neat and tidy. The hot spring inside the building is located on the first floor, but the interior feels a bit cramped, but when I went in, there weren't many users, so it wasn't inconvenient. The view around the hot spring is nice, so it's okay, but the service at the izakaya nearby is terrible, so I don't recommend going to this izakaya.

GGuest UserOverall staying in this hotel was pleasant, and it was of great value considering the package had already included dinner and breakfast buffet. Regarding location, it was a bit far from the bus terminal by walking. It took us about 15 minutes, as the route by Google was not quite correct. The main entrance of the hotel was up on a slope, which was not as easy as we were carrying luggage. Remember to ask the front desk for the password of the back gate. It was a short cut route leading to the main shopping street and the Kusatsu Yubatake. The room was pleasant and clean, a bit too basic. There was only a socket near the tv wall, not close to the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. There was wide range of food in the buffet, with some interesting local dishes. Food was delicious. The hotel also offer free late night snack noodle, which worth trying too.

TTeekhooTook JR express to Kusatsu. From train terminal take a 25 mins bus to Kusatsu bus terminal. There is a shuttle to bus terminal upon request. Take less than 3 mins to reach bus terminal. If walk, then you may take longer times. I booked half boards. Dinner included. The dinner is super good. Free flow of rice, soup n side condiment. Breakfast was Okies. Takeaway coffee cups prepare for you. I specially love the onsen. Robe n slippers had prepared in room for your usage. Kusatsu is a place to have a short getaway from Tokyo.
