The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL! And kept really clean and tidy. The lobby and bar area is stunning and has a lovely relaxed vibe with live music at night. The pool areas are beautiful and the pools are huge and always clean! Some of the pool could do with a little maintenance on tiles etc as this can be sore on your feet. The tiles surrounding the pools can get really slippy too which could be dangerous. The rooms were a great size, beds were comfortable. Parts of the bathrooms could do with a little attention but overall there were no issues other than ants in places. Air conditioning didn’t work in one of our rooms. We were put in a room near a busy road which was a little noisy but not too disrupting. The staff here are all really lovely. We only encountered one rude member of staff all week. They’re lovely, friendly people who are more than happy to help you with a smile. Cleaners are also lovely women! We wasn’t aware that the beach is a public beach. Although there is a small section roped off for hotel guests, this isn’t near the sea and once you start to venture that way, there can be a lot of rubbish about. This is through no fault of the hotel. The weather is a little unpredictable first thing in the morning but we didn’t have a single day where it didn’t brighten up and become really sunny by midday. There are only 2 downfalls to this hotel. The biggest is the food in my opinion. More often than not the food would be barely warm and it can feel really repetitive. There’s lots of generic pasta and pizza which is fine but not the best (cold, hard) so then unless you’re a fan of seafood there isn’t a huge choice of much else. Usually the other dishes were meat in some sort of sauce and rice which was usually so sticky it wouldn’t come off the serving spoon. There was always quite a sour smell in the breakfast/lunch restaurant around where the drinks machines were. It made me feel sick several times. There isn’t a lot of choice of fruit which is a shame. Mainly melon, orange and kiwi. The paninis made to order at lunch have been a saviour. And our youngest Daughter has found it really difficult to find food she likes. We ate at the Asian restaurant one evening which was really lovely and the food was really fresh and hot! It makes all the difference! We heard of several people with upset stomachs during our stay. I was very sceptical about the water being served in the evenings from jugs and not bottles. The pre-made cocktails are also a little questionable. The second downfall is the lack of late-checkout facilities. You are refused the option to arrange a late-checkout room and if you’re booked on a late flight, you become reluctant to enjoy your final day fully because there’s no real changing/freshening facilities other than a single shower in the spa toilet, which has no light and gets stupidly busy. I feel that the hotel would benefit by offering more options for guests to manage this. Overall we have had

Stayed from 28th August for 1 week. Travelled as a family of 6. Arrival and check-in: On arrival was asked to leave our luggage’s outside the entrance by security and to check in at reception. We booked 3 double rooms and asked for them to be next door to each other. Was given rooms on a 2nd floor behind the spa. Note, there are no lifts, so if you have issues with climbing stairs, I advise you to let reception know so they might try and accommodate you. We arrived just after 11am, was told the rooms would not be ready until check in time of 3pm so was advised we could get something to eat at the restaurant Tamaris, this is where they serve breakfast and lunch. We were given a map of the complex with all amenities numbered so you can find your way round. They gave us stickers with our room numbers to place on each of the luggage’s so when the rooms do become available, the porters would bring them up. No issues leaving the luggage’s out by the entrance as security are always outside. If we wanted to get an update on the availability of the rooms in case they were ready sooner we were told to email them. Would have been better if they contacted us even if one of the rooms were free at least you could freshen up etc. Anyway, we made our way to the restaurant and just about caught the end of the breakfast serving which finishes at 12pm. Staff were already tidying and packing up, so we quickly grabbed some eggs, beans and little beef sausages, the food was somewhat cold, but we were hungry after a long journey so didn’t think too much of it. Around 1.30pm we went back to reception to get an update on the rooms, didn’t bother emailing and luckily 2 out the 3 rooms were ready. Luggage’s were still outside and had to wait for porters to bring them up when they were free, so we grabbed some of our swimwear out the bags and headed to the rooms. Rooms: They look like what you see in the photos, but not quite. We found various issues in each of the rooms. AC not working properly, balcony door stiff and handle wouldn’t work, meat of some kind left in the mini fridge from previous occupant, oh and funny enough reception called my room and when I picked up the receiver the cord fell out the phone. They were checking in to see if we got into our rooms. One thing the rooms had in common was ants. Didn’t see an army of them, but they were in each room some on the walls, some in the bathrooms! I would expect a daily surface and floor clean properly done would take care of it, but doubt the rooms are mopped. The room has two single beds pushed together, a mini fridge with two big bottles of water that gets replenished daily. Unfortunately, no fizzy drinks or a kettle for tea or coffee. They had a TV which had two English channels where you can find movies and a BBC news channel. I was hoping you can screen share from phone or login to Netflix or something but no! Not a big deal though. Showers seemed ok no water leaks and the room does get a clean of sorts, to

This is our first time to Mocrocco and our first time at a Riu hotel. I always write an honest review and feel sometimes people only write when they have had a negative experience. So I will start with the positive points. The hotel is amazing. So clean, plenty to do, and many activities planned and provided. Yes, the pools were cold but we still had fun in them each day. The aqua aerobics and and dances around the pool were so much fun. The staff are super friendly. All the bar, restaurant, reception, cleaners, gardeners, towel staff, etc etc made time to greet us everytime. The entertainment team were full of energy and tried hard to get everyone engaged. They must work do hard to learn all the different dances and routines. Anwal I think he was called spoke to us the most and he was brilliant. There is plenty of variety with the food. Not always hot but lots of choice. As a family of two vegetarians and two meat eaters we always had something yummy to eat. Staff were constantly cleaning away dirty plates and making sure tables were cleared ready for the next guests. The beach is clean and quieter in the mornings. There is always a bar open somewhere in the hotel. All bars open at various times so you are never short of a drink if needed and they do a lovely cuppa tea!!! Many different drinks available including beers, spirits, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks. As the pool area is so big there is always plenty of areas to sunbathe and we always managed to get a sun lounger for each of us where we wanted. There is a shop on site. Pool tables are additional costing and the receptionist don't always have the right coins for you to change however, there is a lovely man who comes everyday to the tables to ensure people take turns and he has plenty of coins for you to swap. Although the hotel is very big and has many rooms we didn't feel like it was overcrowded anywhere. Beautiful grounds, fountains, bridges, and ponds complete with ducks. Security on doors and gates to the beach, so very safe. We also got 2 bottles of water in our rooms every day. Fridge in rooms too. Magic show was great! Jordan the Tui rep is the best so wonderful!!! Now the for the not so great points. We arrived after 2am after a very long day travelling and one of the beds was soaking wet. No idea why but it had gone through to the mattress. Went to reception and with in 30 minutes one of the reception team came to our room and helped me turn over the mattress and made up the bed with fresh clean bedding. Which is great quick service. Due to the ages of our children we were told we had to have two separate rooms. On booking we had requested adjointing rooms however we were given two rooms next to each other which was okay but not ideal. There is no tea and coffee facilities in your rooms which I would have personally liked. Evening entertainment was mainly dancing whilst we were there, could be mixed up abit with different acts? No late check out rooms available which

We have stayed previously at the RIU Taghazout hotel which is better than this choice, we just wanted a more central location this time. This is not just a moan, this is honest review! It’s across the promenade to the beach which is lovely, the beach isn’t very clean but they do try. Very unorgained kids club, my daughter was left on her own one day when I went to fetch her, (they forgot her) which I was horrified about, it didn’t feel very secure despite signing them in etc. there were no planned activities or agenda, just seems they left to entertain themselves. The food was good with enough choice for our family, the A la carte restaurants were lovely with very friendly, accommodating staff. There is a little train that runs up and down Agadir and you can catch it outside the hotel, it’s cheap and fun. It runs to the port where you can get off and have a wonder, coffee etc and catch it back again. 1 pool is salt water which was slightly warmer, but still chilly for April. Our room was originally in the 2nd floor and with no loft not practical for a baby buggy so we were moved thankfully to a ground floor room. It was clean, spacious and had essential amenities. Probably would stay here again due to poor kids club.
