Danae Hotel

First time in Aegina. Stayed in a garden room. Great bar, nice food and drinks and very reasonably priced. Very professional and helpful staff. Great location but slightly out of town...20 minutes walk. Very peaceful. Beach across the road. Beyond expectations!

Stayed here for three nights and was lucky enough to have a room on the upper level. The view over the ocean was amazing. The hotel was maintained to the highest of standards and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was good with ample choices. Would love to stay here again.

This hotel is about 15 minutes out of town. It has a lovely pool setup and a nice pool with a bar and small restaurant. There is a free breakfast with extensive choices. The rooms are small, but adequate. However, the WiFi is nonexistent despite having 4 different networks. If you want to be able to check email, etc., its almost impossible. You certainly wouldn't be able to Zoom or Facetime. It was,impossible to watch even short videos. The hotel caters events. During the three days I was there, the pool area was unavailable twice. Once it went on until fairly late in the evening. As all the rooms are by the pool (and mine was on the ground floor), it was very noisy. The hotel also seems to have a late night owl crowd who come back about 1 am and sit by the pool and talk really loudly. The hotel advertises that it is close to a beach. And it is, but it is down a goat path that is extremely steep with no railings. So it isn't easily accessible. Also, the restaurant is only open from 12- 6. Restaurants in town are at least a 20 minute walk away. I missed the closing one night and hiked 15 minutes to town and found not a single restaurant. Further, the roads aren't great to walk on, especially at night as they are narrow and twisty, so you run the risk of getting hit by a car. I wouldn't come here again.

A convenient 10min. walk from Aegina Town this little hotel offers a stylish pool and beautiful ocean views from the top floors. Even though situated right along the road, it’s quiet, traffic is no bother at all. Bring a light if you walk back at night, not all parts of the (wide) road are well lit. Rooms and bathrooms are smallish, but clean and functional. Breakfast wasn’t crowded even during the weekend, food is fresh and tasty. Would be even better if it offered the local pistachio butter! Staff is friendly and helpful. Across the road are several access points to walk down to the ocean - quiet morning swims in the clear water are a must!

Lovely hotel with great location. Really friendly and service minded staff. Lovely breakfast. Only slight “bad thing” is that it is pretty loud meaning, you can hear the neighbours and the generators from outsider, but I would still visit again.

OK, so first of all, Aegina is awesome and you should definitely visit the island. The hotel was cool and located on 1km away from the main township. There is a good pool at the hotel, however you want to get your poolside chair early as these get snapped up. The room was pretty good. It was a good size and it had a nice balcony with a sea view. The room was air conditioned which helped. I also liked that the balcony got afternoon sun so all your clothes would dry in literally an hour. Just a little bit on Aegina itself. This island is awesome. It's a 40 minute ferry from Athens. You get the Greek Island experience here wothout the crazy prices and crowds. The water is crystal clear and warm. The food is good and some of the island cats love a pat. Unfortunately some of the hotel staff were a bit rude at times which brought the rating down. There was also no lift which was annoying. This was a good place to be based at to explore Aegina. Would stay here again.
