Rastoni Hotel Aegina

Blissful little place with a garden like paradise. We had a chalet in the garden which also had a mini kitchen area. The bed was comfortable and the room had air con plus a fan. As the rooms had fly screens we were able to leave the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. There are plenty of seating areas in the garden and terraces. The position is a short walk from the port and town. Good breakfast and lovely helpful staff. All in all, a superb little find.

A family member was admitted to the hospital 4 days before our trip with a serious injury on the head, at the intensive care unit. Obviously the family could not do the trip and had to cancel our plans. We called the hotel to let them know and the lady at the reception was furious about cancelling the reservation although we told her that it is an emergency and that we also have evidence from the hospital. She kept shouting at us telling us that we are lying. We could not have a conversation with her and eventually we hang up the phone. This is unacceptable whatever the case; shouting at customers, telling them that they are lying where in fact we have a serious reason to cancel the trip. We did send her the hotel admission and surgery evidence over email to shut her up.

The location is great-Its like a private villa in a heaven garden and close to the town of AIGINA-The rooms are great and spacious, the bathrooms are wide and very clean-The view is excellent, The staff reception, and catering staff are very friendly and hospitable-the price is excellent for its value. and it has its own private free parking.

This hotel has charm. Good welcome. The staff is friendly. Very clean room with air conditioning. The buffet breakfast is very varied and plentiful. There is a small private parking lot. Possibility of having breakfast in the shaded garden. I recommend +++

Without needing to write an essay, this hotel is splendid. Very good service and help from all the staff. Very good morning buffet (the homemade jam was amazing). Rooms were clean and quiet. There is also parking available, I dont know if the space available is enough in summer where the hotel will be full.. Wifi signal was ok-ish with slow speeds, but thankfully still available. Something I do have to note. There is a newer wing in this hotel complex and that where we stayed. The bathroom was bigger, with more comfort and space. The older wing is more traditional and with smaller showers. The garden is absolutely beautiful and I definitely want to come again in summer and enjoy it more. Even though it had small things here and there that I didn't like. I still recommend this hotel.

Arrived at the Aegina early so decided to go to the Rastoni to see if they would keep our luggage even though we were too early to checkin. We were met by the owner who immediately offered us a welcome cup of coffee or orange juice, a place to store our luggage and place to relax in the garden or the lounge/ lobby before heading out to explore the island. Our room was on the top floor of the building with views over the pretty garden and out to the temple and the sea, and had a small veranda to sit out and enjoy the sunset. A small kitchenette and fridge allowed us to store food and make hot drinks. Room also had a single bed in the loft area. Breakfast- wow!! Was amazing and the best buffet we had while in Greece. Cold meats and cheese, creamiest yogurt, fruit, frittata, pastries and Greek orange cake- I must have forgotten something, the choice was huge. The garden is beautiful and a relaxing place to have breakfast- a great place to start the day. The hotel is ideally located a short walk from the town center and the port and is a peaceful retreat. Aegina is a short ride from Athens and so can be visited as a day trip but it is well worth spending a night to explore and enjoy at leisure. I recommend the Hotel Rastoni for anyone interested in more than a day trip to the island and a chance to relax. Thanks to the team for their welcome and congratulations on such a beautiful place.
