Pilot Amphora Boutique Hotel "Adults Only"

Everything was great. Loved the design. Nice to have access to the other Pilot Resort, while staying in a more quiet place.

What a gem of a hotel this is. Small, intimate, adults only. We arrived in the early hours of the morning to a warm welcome from the night concierge who showed us to our room and got us a snack. The next day we awoke after a restful sleep on a comfortable bed, better able to take in our surroundings which were lovely. All the meals were delicious. Great cooking from the chef and kitchen staff. We were half board and enjoyed an a la carte menu each night. With tasty breakfasts in the mornings. Eggs were cooked to order, so fresh each day. On the mornings we had to leave early for day trips, we were given a packed breakfast. I can truly say the staff are exceptional. Polite, helpful and do their best to make the stay a memorable and relaxing one. The manager goes out of his way to make sure all goes well throughout the stay. He and the table staff ensure they get to know your personal preferences so that coffee is always as you like it! We didn’t get all the names but thank you to Panos, the manager, Nanos, Dinos, Irene and Menia. Also to the chamber maids who looked after our room. Even my nightwear was neatly folded. Fresh water each day and toiletries as needed. We made good use of the pool which is a reasonable size and kept clean. We also visited the sister hotel located next to the beach. A shuttle service is provided between the two hotels . We opted to walk back along the beach which took about half an hour to forty minutes on the day we went to the Pilot beach. On some evenings there was entertainment. Saturday and Sunday the music was provided by a young couple, with beautiful singing by the young woman across a range of musical genres from jazz to pop. The village itself is pleasant to walk around, with plenty to see and explore. It is a good place from which to explore this area of Crete. The one word to sum everything up is EXCEPTIONAL and we can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

We have just returned home from a wonderful week at the Pilot Amphoria. The hotel is an oasis of calm short distance from the town square. You arrive as guests and leave as friends because the staff treat you as individuals with such courtesy and respect. Nothing is too much trouble,there is no list of dos and don'ts, the manager Panagiotis and his team only have a can-do attitude. They sorted laundry for us and organised a late check out due to our flight being late home. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and our room was no exception. It was cleaned to the highest of standards daily,fluffy towels,and plenty of toiletries replenished as needed. The bed was the comfiest we have ever slept in away from home, so much so we wanted to bring it home with us. Fresh,good quality and tasty food was served at both breakfast and dinner. Dinner being a five courses, well worth the half board supplement Thank you to the chefs . We would love to return one day but booking early will be a must as we think the secret is out as to what an amazing hotel this is. Thank you for everything .

Overall a really nice and enjoyable 6 nights. Positives: Clean rooms and hotel Spacious (Maisonette) room Good quality food and in the majority very tasty. The 5 course a la carte is plentiful and so are the options at breakfast. Can also use the sister hotel (Pilot Beach Resort) which has its own stretch of beach and free sunbeds - note this is a family resort so lots of young children (predominantly german clientele). The resort is only a 5 min drive away and Amphora offers a free timetabled shuttle service. Close to restaurants and cafes nearby (in Georgioupoli). Irina and the blond lady at dinner (sorry we did not note her name down) were so friendly and accommodating. Negatives: The biggest gripe for us (on a beach holiday) is that towels, shower amenities were not replaced daily. This is an inconvenience when you are showering multiple times a day. A number of TV channels didn't work. Only 2 english speaking news channels. No capability to watch apps in the room i.e. Netflix Although most the staff (including the hotel manager) were friendly, we sensed a couple were disingenuous. This is exacerbated when it's a small hotel.

The room had an iron and ironing board, hairdryer and safe. The tv was only in German although the range of channels were good. I loved the design on the room, plenty of storage for the 2 of us and the bedside table had usb ports aswell as sockets.

Recently returned from a weeks holiday staying at the Pilot Amphora. The hotel stay was excellent from start to finish. The manager was visible and approachable every day, ensuring all was well and he and all his team worked hard with attention to detail and in a calm, courteous and unhurried manner. The food was great, particularly the buffet breakfast which had lots of choice and all fresh and tasty including the choice of eggs cooked to order. Our room was very comfortable and a good size and the shower was perfect. Rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The location of the hotel is great on the periphery of the town and was very quiet and peaceful. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would also love to return in the future.

We had a wonderful week at Pilot Amphora. The outstanding team at the hotel made us feel like valued guests from the moment we arrived. Everything is even better than it looks online, from the restful, beautifully designed rooms (ours had a private pool) to the outstanding catering - including a magnificent breakfast every morning. The hotel is situated in the centre of Georgioupolis, a lively but relaxed little town with beautiful tavernas and beachside walks. With so much to see in the world, we rarely go anywhere more than once. But Pilot Amphora might well be an exception to that rule.

This was our second stay in this hotel for our summer holidays. As last year, we had great time here. The hotel is well located in Georgioupolis, it is very quite and peaceful and close to the beach. It is very clean, the food is good from breakfast to diner. What is the most important is the kindness of all the staff (cleaners, waiters and manager). You feel even better than at home. We fall in love with this place and will come back for sure.

Superb hotel - spotlessly clean , very well designed and decorated rooms ( great powerful shower ) . Staff are brilliant - helpful in all areas and excellent service - breakfast has a very good choice and eggs cooked for you. The pool area is very relaxing and again spotless. It never felt crowded ( it only has 30 rooms) , so everything felt very personal. Gym is very well equipped for its size. We had a room with a private pool (it was the only one available when e booked) , but we never actually used it - as it was quite early in the season (start of June) and as it faced East you got the morning sun , but not the afternoon sun and the pool never really got warm. ( I imagine later in the season this would not be an issue) , but personally i would say a first or second floor room that faced the mountains (south) would be a better option. However as the pool and bar area is so nice and relaxing , this was not an issue. The hotel does not have any se views as its at one end of the town , but everything is on your doorstep ( all the restaurant's and shops etc). The local beaches are a 5 minute walk. You can also use all the facilities at the sister hotel, Pilot beach resort , which is a very large complex. There is a free shuttle there and back a few times a day , but on the two occasions we went , we just walked along the beach ( 30 minutes each way). There is also a lovely local beach ( over the Georgioupolis bridge and to the left of the harbour ). On our last day we were given an unprompted late checkout of 4pm , which was very helpful. Overall i would recommend this hotel and would very happily stay again.
