Everything was good the food, drinks, pool, bar the bus stop was in front of the hotel so we got easily to Rethymno. The staff was really kind and helpful. The all inclusive was worth it!! Marinos is the best bartender and a good new friend! We will go back

We have just returned from this Hotel for the 2nd time in 3 years after spending 2 weeks there . We both cannot say enough for those staff there for making our hoilday a great one . From Adriana on reception to the restaurant, bar staff and cleaning staff . The food as usual was of great variety and so much of it . An abundance of fruit and cereal aswell as cooked food. Great views from out room and always cleaned and smelling great . Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always happy to see you . If I had one negative it would be the pool bar should remain open beyond 6pm like it did originally. Would 100% recommend this hotel for food ,staff, location ,cleanliness etc. Many thanks again to all at Solimar Diias

the rooms are not nearly that size that advertiset. Standard room is max 16 squarmeters with shower room. Food is eatable but not very tasty. Beach is not as good as expected, yes above waterline sand, but in water stony, rocky and partly bedrock. Staff is nice and helpfull.

Just come back from this hotel. Had a great time. Bed was comfy with topper on. Clean towels everyday except Sunday. We had a room overlooking Road but had sea view. Was not noisy. Excellent aircon. Free WiFi. Food was so tasty not cordon blue but nice salads and plenty of meat and fish. Best thing was the pool and the pool bar so pretty and clean. Plenty of sun beds and shaded area if needed. Which we did. Staff were amazing so helpful. All in all a good very Greek all inclusive hotel. Beach shingle and not nice on feet but bars there and sun beds.

Back to the Solimar for 3 weeks, usual room and many of the "old" staff. The weather was hotter than usual for the time of year usually between 30-34c, too hot for us. This is the last year to be run by the Solimar company as a new company takes over from the end of October. To be truthful the hotel has, over the years we have been holidaying there, become very run down due to lack of investment but we have always enjoyed our time there. The talk is the new owners will take a very long lease (15yrs) and invest at least 1 million Euros. We shall keep in touch with our friends there (George, Andreana, etc), and if they remain working at the hotel under the new owners, we shall probably be back there next September (prototheos,DV).

The room is appropriate, the hotel is nice, the staff is friendly, the food is very delicious. The bus stops are in front of the hotel, this way public transport is easy. The water in the swimming pool is crystal clear and not very cold. I absolutely recommend the place. :-)

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Do not believe the reviews. Myself and my partner booked this as our summer getaway and to say we were disappointed was an understatement. The shower didn’t attach to the wall so we had to hold it whilst we showered, the shower curtain was too short so water went everywhere! The air conditioning was set facing the balcony and hardly worked! The bed was like the floor resulted in aching bodies every night. Very suspicious stains on walls and seat. The balcony was very old had laminate flooring over the top to hide the breaking wood. Furniture very old, chairs in bar rickety and broken - very unsafe! Someone sat and fell off the seat whilst we were there! When we arrived the toilet had a disinfected sticker on when we opened the water was brown with a odour - we found we would start to smell odours in the middle of the night even with doors closed - presumably from the room next doors bathroom. Drinks and food were 2 stars at best! Pool was dirty, flowers leaves and dirt left in the pool the whole week, plus very potent smell around the pool. Sun beds at the pool were broken with screws hanging out. Staff were kind but sparse we had to wait at reception a few times for help. Floors were scratched. Two nights of entertainment out of 7. The death elevator - very fast and jolts a lot and the door makes a lot of banging which you can hear in your room. Stated on live holidays it was a sandy beach but was quite the opposite- most shops sold sea shoes due to the stones and the coral reef you have to walk over to get into the sea. DO NOT COME!

I've never had a horrible experience with hotels - until now. our accommodation was always at least clean, if not wow. however, this time, Solimar Dias Hotel exceeded all expectations of the terrible. in the room we were greeted by a dirty toilet seat, toilet elements that fall off, and ants on the bed. our room was changed the next day - it was ok. then the area where you eat - dust next to the plate, dirty cutlery and the people working were so careless. there was always a lack of cups and small spoons. the food was mostly desperate, ineatable and tasteless. flies flying all over the food. the rooms are not even cleaned every day, the towels are not changed every day, sometimes three days passed without them being changed, so I asked for clean ones. the terrace is unusable because there is an external air conditioning unit that blows into the terrace! all the seating furniture in the lobby was deformed and uncomfortable to sit on. The chairs in the garden(terrase) were almost all wobbly, I witnessed the scene when the chair broke after a guy sat on it and he fell on the floor - really horrible. I didn't think going in the pool when I saw all this. the snacks between meals were poor, some pastries mostly. simply everything in this hotel is bad for the price we paid. our vacation was ruined by being nervous, I was even sick for the last 4 days, I couldn't wait to get home. what can be misleading is the excellent rating on the booking - I don't know which people are so satisfied, but believe me, this is not even a decent hotel, and I've been in two stars where everything was at a higher level, and in three where everything was much better than here. I would not comment Crete because we absolutely did not like it, there are non-stop waves and the beaches are average.

This is a hotel with the worst WiFi I have ever experienced. The beds are hard as rocks. The pool is very small and there are not sunbeds enough for everyone! However the worst about this trip was the food. I have personally never experienced such poor quality. Even the fries was sucky and terrible. We spend most of our days on the beach and would rather buy food there, than eat at the hotel. The ladies in the reception was very helpful, though. The towels had stains on them and the pipes smelled like rotten food. It is not worth the money. Yes, the hotel is very good price, but let me tell you it is not worth it. Spend some more money and buy a better hotel.
