Hotel Malavoglia

I returned to the Hotel Malavoglia for a "last minute" stay with my family on Wednesday 30 August 2023. We were assigned a large, bright and comfortable quadruple room. Mattresses of adequate thickness and capable of offering a more than good quality of sleep. Clean linen, excellent air conditioning and soundproofing. The bathroom has a large window (and not the usual ventilation system), super spacious shower cubicle, bathtub and two sinks, all of the latest generation. There is a good personal hygiene kit. The swimming pool, decidedly beautiful, is another strong point of the structure. The sunbeds by the pool are very comfortable and of "premium" quality, as are the maxi umbrellas. There is a nice poolside bar, which served us an excellent Spritz with pretzels. At a cost of 10 euros per day, a convenient covered parking service is also available in the basement, with direct access from the hotel premises 👍. Very varied and abundant breakfast, with the presence of sweet, savory and fruit. I particularly appreciated the cakes and biscuits, a little less croissants, donuts and other baked goods. I also liked the watermelon, not the white melon as much. I can't comment on savory foods, having not tasted anything. Regarding the cappuccino, it is possible to choose between the self-service machine and the bar adjacent to the breakfast room, with the staff providing table service. I recommend this last solution, also because there is no surcharge. On one occasion we had lunch by the pool with four courses of fish. Average price around 15 euros per serving and unfortunately, for the amount spent, the result did not meet expectations 😕. Proceeding to a quick calculation, I can say that in this period, at the Hotel Malavoglia in Acitrezza, the rate per person per day, breakfast and taxes included, is around 50 euros per person, to which the tourist tax must be added. The latter costs 2 euros per person per day, obviously excluding small children. Final judgement: certainly not popular rates, but all in all we had a good time and so it was worth it😄👍!!
