Was slightly wary of this hotel as it seemed to be the only place around with availability but my concerns vanished straight away. What a cracking place. We had an evening meal here which again we thought would be average but wow absolutely got that wrong again, fabulous food with so much taste and generous portions. Friendly staff, great to chat to a couple of local people in the bar too,I loved it. As far as our room was concerned we had a family(double and a single) room as it was just for one night, although not en-suite it had its own private bathroom which was a great size and clean. The room too was a fabulous size, creaky bed every time you turned it made a noise but pretty comfy. The only slight niggle the cold water tap on the sink in the room didn’t work but it wasn’t the end of the world.Breakfast not as good as the previous nights food but was ok.Staff really friendly I’d definitely go back and would happily recommend. This is a no frills hotel but the whole feel of the place was fabulous, the staff we met were nice and in general it was a great overnight stop.

We stayed for three days in August 2024. Don’t arrive earlier than the 4pm check in as the hotel will be locked up. Staff were excellent 5+ stars. Always willing to help and answer questions. Food in the evening was good but expensive as no other choices in Kilchoan with most items £17 apart from starters, pizza and childrens menu. Breakfast was good but maybe should use local produce where available. Haggis would have been good as an additional breakfast item to make it a « real » full Scottish. I envoyed our stay and would recommend.

Staff are a great credit to the hotel. In particular Grace worked extremely hard to look after our group. Wefelt very well looked after by all workjng at the hotel- many thanks. Food was great at dinner and breakfast was also good. On the developmental feedback side the hotel rooms are comfortable and have everything needed however are a little tired which is reflected in the rating given based on value for money.

Very welcoming staff ( Grace and Peter) and a good chef who gave us delicious cooked breakfasts. Evening meals also tasty with a good choice. Our room at the top was a generous size, nice and warm, had tea and coffee making facilities, a good, hot shower and lovely views. We felt very comfortable there. Our first visit to this part of the world and we were taken back by how beautiful and remote it is. We enjoyed a tour of the lighthouse and on the way you pass a Community garden that sells organic produce and pickles. Worth a stop. Trip to Mull on ferry makes a good day out. Recommend the An Tobar Arts Centre and Cheese and Spirit farm (Sgriob-ruadh). They gave tours there and had different gins to try out and a stylish cafe.

Great hotel, lots of charm. Staff are so friendly, along with the whole village. The hotel is the only bar & public restaurant in the village…..which most of the village will be there on a Friday night. We stayed 2 nights, had a great time. Breakfast & dinner was top class.

This was a lovely stay on our trip - we only really met one staff member - when we arrived, when we ate and drank, and when we checked out. He was so friendly, helpful and had such a great work ethic we asked if he was the owner - he was not. Our room was huge for UK standards and the meals were great too. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling in that area.

I visited this hotel for lunch 2 years ago whilst driving around the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The food and service was great. Last week whilst staying in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, my wife and I decided to revisit the hotel. This involved a 40 minute ferry crossing and a 1 mile walk up an access road. I had checked the hotel's website to work out when they were serving food - this started at noon and continued to the evening. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a sign on the door saying closed, open at 5. The landlady appeared and explained and said that opening hours were restricted by staff shortages. OK I get that - Brexit and the cost of accommodation in the area, but surely it is not too much trouble to update the website! We could have avoided the expense of a wasted journey.

Small hotel in Kilchoan on Ardnamurchan peninsula. Excellent cooked breakfast to order if you want it. Very friendly obliging staff. Small evening menu - the best fish and chips I’ve had in years and a decent NZ Sauvignon. Very clean and dogs are accepted. Ferry to Tobermory on Mull close by and a short drive from Sanna Bay with spectacular scenery all around.
