Booked a superior room with city view and had a free upgrade to luxury room with sea view which made our stay more special. Staff were very nice especially Ms. Allen in the reception. The room was so clean. Many options for breakfast. Location within the city center. We had a great stay.

Overall good stay but I didn't find the staff friendly at all, except for a couple of people. Most of them had a rude and unwelcoming look on their face everywhere. The location of the hotel is good with decent facilities and taxis are available parked outside all the time.

It's an older hotel that doesnt live up to Sofitel brand standard anymore. However its still clean and fairlly well maintained. There are few important things that make up for this lower rate. Low water pressure and hot water being just slightly warm. Worn out equipment in the room - e.g. iron that can burn your clothes, a speaker that doesnt connect to your phone. The bed is pretty comfy, although my wife complained its too soft for her.
Also the gym - trademills are not really good for more experienced runners.They seem cool but are not practical. Swimming pool water doesnt look clean (thats subjective though).
Next time i would rather spend a few hundreds AED more and book a different one. And I'm all club silver member and do stay a lot in hotels around the world so I collected quite experience to be able to compare within Accor network and with other chains such as IHG. To me this Sofitel can be rated lower than some Novotel quality level hotels in Asia and MENA.

Overall it was good. But not as the same level as Sofitel must be. There was only one bath towel in a room
