We stayed here 2 nights while touring in the area. The site is lovely with a fence around it and the owners/staff are friendly and helpful. Wifi is OK. There are few dinner options but the food is very good. The bed was extremely hard with only 1 sheet for a top cover. The pillows were lumpy. The toilet paper is coarse. The shower is not contained and gets water all over the floor. There was a hole in the back of the sink which leaked water on the floor. They did laundry for us at an inexpensive price.

I'm very happy that I ended up at Chez Sabine. A little oasis of calm in Abomey. Room was basic but totally fine for my needs. Bed was solid, A/C cold (was nearly 40° during my stay), no soap provided in the bathroom so bring your own, hot shower but I'd suggest not leaving it to late as the water started to run low. This was one of the row of rooms that you see in the picture. There were also others in the main building, which appeared to be more modern but I was told do not have hot water. There's a cute little corner area to eat but I always sat upstairs on the wide veranda. The food (cooked by Sabine herself) was the best I ate in Benin. Nothing fancy but quality ingredients, made with love. But the best part: Sabine herself. She was so friendly and welcoming. Her and her brother run the place (he was nice too). They both speak some English. We got by with that, my bad French and a bit of google translate. Sabine organised a guide of the city for me and onward transport to Grand Popo. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the interesting sights of Abomey. Merci pour tout, Sabine!

I came here with my mother on a two week trip. We only stayed 1 night at Chez Sabine, but it was absolutely lovely. We had separate rooms. I believe there is only 1 bed per room, so if you're traveling with someone you don't want to share a bed with, get a separate room. The hotel is a little compound. There is a beautiful garden throughout. It is on a quiet street off the main road. You feel like you are in the middle of a little paradise. These are very simple rooms. That being said, they were meticulously clean, with hot water and cold AC. The linens (sheets and towels) all smelled really clean and fresh. There was even soap, but you'll need to bring your own shapoo and conditioner. The food at dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Sabine was incredibly welcoming, and her nephew, who works there, had wonderful customer service. You can tell Sabine and her staff tale pride in their hotel. This place deserves all the good reviews. Don't confuse simple with basic. My mother absolutely loved the hotel and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Spent the night of my 60th Birthday here having crossed into Benin the night before to achieve my goal of 150 countries visited before I turned 60! They were soooo gracious! They served me a birthday cake and everyone, young and old, sang Happy Birthday to me! I cried! And the had plenty of ice for my rum punches!
