Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire

Currently staying here for what we thought would be a relaxing few days at a nice brand in between more rustic accommodations in remote destinations. Staying here was a huge mistake. Having stayed at many Sofitels, this is absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen. Was fooled by the overall positive rating here and brand recognition and booked without reading the negative reviews. Booked a junior suite and arrived late from a flight, only to take a shower that flooded the bathroom within 2 minutes because the drain was clogged. Disgusting- called reception from the toilet telephone as it was the only one that worked, and was told there was nothing they could do tonight as they were fully booked. Next day we switched rooms after they insisted on confirming the drain couldn’t be fixed. Sure enough, after an hour waiting on maintenance, it could not be fixed. New room and the safe was broken. It is one thing after another here. The hall ways seem to be under construction, and the gym is absolutely dreadful. This is an expensive hotel and it in no way justifies its cost. Between here and the Pullman or Novotel, definitely choose them over the Sofitel. You will pay more money here and be much worse off. While the staff tries to fix the problems, they are under equipped for this losing battle of a hotel. Really wish we could just get our money back for night 2 and move to the Pullman.

The pool, spa, & gym was closed for the month & they didn’t put a notice on their site. I saw a roach in my room. Room service took hours & I called multiple times. The drain in my tub was broken. The laundry staff tried to make side deals with me. The room was out dated. The Elevators kept breaking down and I had to go to my room with my suitcase through the employee elevator in the back of the hotel. The TV only has 3 channels & its NEWS channels. Comfortable bed though.

Excellent service by front desk staff when checking in/out. Especially Stephie & Mauthy. Good meals at Le Brasserie. Room service was excellent. Conference facilities were excellent. Front desk staff helped with taxis. I would recommend Sofitel Abidjan to other friends and colleagues.

This experience was terrible! We checked in for 2 nights. Loud music, cockroaches, personal concierge number not working, bathtub clogged! On the 1st night there was a loud open-air concert from 6 PM until 5 AM. The building was shaking and the sound was bouncing through the walls. The concierge did not seem to be aware of the end time, and we met more than 5 people who went downstairs to complain at the front desk, but nothing was done. Bathtub was clogged and the shower barely had water, we informed the staff but nothing was done until our departure.

Food was amazing! Was served by Carelle who was really attentive and always checking if we were doing fine every night we had dinner in. Lovely service she provided to us. Over all the hotel/ restaurant has a lovely staff. Thank you

Super stay and very friendly staff..check in was a breeze…special thanks to Innocencia..very efficient at the front desk, great rooms and nice atmosphere..I would recommend as a place to stay for a few days to see the area and region. Good breakfast!
