Excellent service We booked afternoon tea, dinner and an overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. What most impressed us was the pacing of the whole experience. The 30-minute grace period meant we didn't feel rushed at all and we really enjoyed having a drink in the piano bar while choosing our options from the dinner menu, before being taken through to the restaurant. Also notable during our stay was the level of service and care taken by staff, who were always present, polite and able to handle requests with ease. All the food we had was delicious and our dietary requirements were catered for. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, as was the hotel in general (despite our visit coinciding with the Barbie Boozy Brunch!). We are eager to visit again with friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Marcliffe to others. Although it is expensive, we feel our experience exceeded our expectations and provided brilliant value for money.

Going Down Staff very friendly and friendly with each other, menu very poor, food apart from lobster was very good. Dining was very expensive for what you got. Cleanliness in hotel was very good, bedroom not so, went to make a coffee only to find the kettle disgusting, the spout was even full of dried sediment. Stayed here 20 months ago and I'm afraid the hotel has gone down and the prices up. Don't think it should be classed as five star anymore. Which is a shame because it is a beautiful place.

The marcliffe is one of my favourite hotels. My go to for the aberdeenshire. So glad it has transitioned seemlessly through its chanhe in ownership. Great team, superb service and beautiful property.

Always a hit when we come here for a meal but we decided to stay on our last visit. Service was 5* from all the staff. From check in to check out. Dinning at night was amazing and breakfast could not be faulted. After our meal and several drinks we went to the "drawing room" live music was amazing and again staff very accommodating. A sauna and spa would make this hotel our go to but only services from spa available.

Lovely building in spacious grounds. Easy access from the AWPR and plenty parking. Room was clean and comfortable with coffee, tea, milk, water and a small fridge. The bed was amazingly comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud!

Generally a nice hotel but disappointing in a few areas. Breakfast and dinner were good. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. Be aware there is a large construction site next door to the hotel. While we were there the banging, drilling and trucks started at 07:00 and went on until after 17:30. It was a hot few days, but we couldn’t have the window open because of the noise. The room was a bit dated with a fairly random collection of furniture and styles ranging from the early 90s to the mid 2000’s. It would benefit from a refurb / redesign of the rooms. The bathroom had dangerously hot water and be careful not to touch the towel rail! The black mould on the tile grout in the bath was disappointing. Overall it was fine, but just a bit tired.
