We stayed here for 2 nights as a family whilst my husband was working. The entrance to the hotel was lovely, a beautiful aroma in the air and very helpful staff on the reception. On entrance to the lifts, everything seemed clean and fresh. The rooms were large. We had a double and a single bed, and still had plenty room for a pram and our bags. The shower was powerful and hot which was lovely and fresh towels each day. There was a kettle with plenty tea/coffee to choose from. The beds were comfortable. There was a heating/air con remote however regardless of what we did, the room cooled at night time, waking our little one who likes to be snug as a bug. After night one, I left the room for it to be made up and although the room was cleaned - the bed was “thrown”together the way I could have done it myself. None of the covers were “tidied” under, making it like a fresh bed again for that evening which was disappointing. There were also a number of marks on the bathroom tiles and up on the ceiling which could have easily been sprayed and wiped down, I’m sure. Perhaps a little more attention to detail with certain things. There was an ice machine on our floor - didn’t work. However reception brought some up for us which was good. There is a lovely large bar area on entrance to the hotel. I was looking for somewhere to have a coffee on day 1 however was informed I could only have takeaway coffee as they didn’t open until noon. I found this a bit strange as there were a lot of business people with laptops who were instead sat on the couches outside the bar area when in fact, they could have had a comfortable seat with a coffee in the bar area. Maybe something to think about? It’s a shame as I had met up with a group of 6 of us plus our kids and we would have all ordered food and drink but instead had to make our way to Starbucks.

When I arrived in Aberdeen on Tuesday 11th April I needed somewhere to stay for one or two nights I've previously stated at this b&b before and was also recommend by another person I rung the door bell on the front door and asked if any vacancies for a room were available I was greeted by the male host no we haven't I asked any room's available later in the week no we haven't in such a Argonaut way not a great welcome into reception infront of other people staying there, I ended up buying a mobile phone in Aberdeen to find out this B&B had over 10 room's available from Wednesday onwards so I was lied to by the male host also spoken to in a horrible and nasty way and had to sleep rough in -12oc temperatures I live back in West Yorkshire I was due to travel home on Sunday 16th April via train and now find myself stuck in Aberdeen General Hospital with a infection in my face which could of been triggered off my the cold weather during the nights were I couldn't find accommodation like the OYO LOST GUEST HOUSE IN ABERDEEN saying no vacancies when I find out through buying a phone there were vacancies available quite shocking and disturbing To say I'm now stuck in hospital with no money and no way of getting home by any form of transport I live over 200 miles away and the worse part was the way the host spoke to me no we haven't any vacancies what's wrong with saying sorry we don't have any available at moment, shocking, disturbing, outrageous greetings after walking through the front door one B&B to really think about if need somewhere has friendliness is free nastiest isn't and it's cruel

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights midweek .we had a family room on the 4 th floor the room was large with a super king size bed and a single bed both were very comfortable There was plenty storage space and a work desk tea and coffee provided too ! Clean bathroom with good power shower and plenty towels ! Breakfast was good standard and buffet style ! The only 2 complaints I have is the very creaky floorboards in the room and the parking was dog eat dog ! Overall we had a pleasant stay and would return again for good deal !

My friend and I were attending an event in the hotel. The hotel is in a superb location. Within walking distance from the train station, shops and fantastic pubs and eatery’s We were checked in by two lovely ladies who were happy and efficient. They directed us to the lifts and off we went to find our room. Our room was very small but clean. It was dark and the lighting was terrible. The bulb in our bathroom above the mirror was not working which made it extremely difficult for us to see properly. The bathroom itself was modern enough. The fan came on when you turned the light on and it made an awful noise which was extremely annoying. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. We did not have any problems with noise like others have mentioned previously. We had breakfast the next day and it was terrible! We hardly ate a thing. The hot food choices were limited and of poor quality and the staff looked miserable and were not overly friendly. The tables are in need of replacement as they were badly marked and sloping. Overall I would stay in the hotel again due to the fantastic central location and hope to get one of the rooms with better lighting.

This is now my 3rd visit to these apartments and had I reviwed this prior to this stay it would have been a clear 5* review. I've not long checked in and to say I'm underwhelmed is an understatement. I chose a 1 bedroomed apartment so we would have plenty room to move around similar to my previous visits. However, the allocation this time around amounts to the size of a studio apartment but with an extra door leading to the bed. The view from the window is of a brick wall a few feet away. The living area is compact and unfortunately if you value privacy you need to keep the blinds firmly shut as there are properties directly opposite in close proximity. One of the windows doesn't close properly leading to a constant draft. I'd recommend avoiding room 901 if at all possible. Although these apartments were my first choice of accommodation in the past this trip has made me rethink this decision.

Shame there's a £10 fee for checking in early. A bit dated but clean + functional room. Friendly staff - when I asked for more milk they asked if I needed anything else topping up. Also a friendly welcome given at breakfast. Good central location.

Hôtel is located on a side street off busy Union Street. There are a few interesting cafés around so you never too far to get good coffee. The room is clean and good size. The breakfast spread is good. Definitely stay here again when I visit Aberdeen again.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for business and pleasure trip. We had booked a double room with breakfast. Upon arrival, I noticed that the staff were wearing masks, established that they had a COVID case, some staff members were sick thus there was no bar or restaurant service. We were given room 211, it was filthy, went back to reception and given another room. Had to wait ages and as there was only one lift that operated at snail speed. Again, the second room was very basic, small, dated, small tight bathroom, very warm as the heater was full on and it did not match the photographs on Mercure website. I have stayed at other Mercure hotels before but this was something else. No bathrobes, no fancy bed coverings as in the illustrated pictures. This is NOT a four-star hotel as claimed, three stars maximum. There is a safe. Tea and coffee making facilities that do not get replenished biscuits on the first night only. Double bed that was smaller in comparison to other hotels. The TV has Freeview channels of which some did not work. No proper desk to work on. At night-time, there is so much noise from outside. This hotel needs modernising and a good clean. No wonder the hotel had a COVID case as the cleaning standards are low. Breakfast was average, sausages undercooked, eggs overcooked, not much choice of the cold section, no rolls only bread and limited fruit. Transport: From Aberdeen airport catch the 727 to Union Square which has the central bus station and railway station. It is a ten-minute walk to the hotel. Transport system is good but there was a rail strike on one of the days. The hotel is in a good location. There are lots of local places to eat especially at Union Square.
