A lucky find on the internet, we feel fortunate to have been among the first to enjoy this lovely harbourside townhouse which had opened for business just four or five weeks before our three-night stay. Fantastic location overlooking the bobbing boats and a beautifully appointed room with many 'designer' touches – clearly the work of professionals. Sitting on a pretty terrace corner, the three-storey building, formerly the solicitor owner's business premises, has been comprehensively refurbished and decorated to a very high standard. There are thoughtful room freebies like snacks and drinks (even a strawberry daiquiri if your fancy runs that way) and good quality toiletries can be found in the snug but beautifully finished shower room (there was also a copper-finish bath in the bedroom if that's what floats your soap). Breakfast – tasty and plentiful and included in the room price – is served just a few steps across the road in the Hive restaurant which has indoor and outdoor seating. Blessed with unexpectedly warm, sunny weather, we enjoyed dining on the terrace for two of our three evenings. Staff were smiling (mostly), friendly and helpful. Street parking was easy to find even at busy times. Highly recommended.
