Abbeville is an attractive town for me to stay in on my way back to UK. This is the first time at the Mercure in Abbeville, though I have stayed at many in France over the years. Service was very helpful and my room comfortable. There are some good patisseries in town also if you want to find your own breakfast. You can reserve a parking place. I look forward to returning.

Stayed for 4 nights, long enough to realise this is not a 4 star hotel! Nowhere in the room to hang clothes apart from a small cupboard in the bathroom which contained the safe - and in any case I don’t really want my clothes hanging in the bathroom! Underneath the cupboard were drawers but these contained bedding! Does this hotel think travellers don’t need storage ? Had to live out of my suitcase for the duration ! Not ideal! And there was plenty of space in the room for cupboards to be installed! Paper cups in the bedroom - no milk! Couldn’t be bothered asking for any - it should be readily available as should china cups! Lift is tiny and did not accommodate us as well as luggage - nobody from the hotel offered to help either! Parking - nowhere to stop outside the hotel to unload luggage ! Parking is an issue near the hotel and we had to park about half a mile away! Parking in the hotel was available but would cost 15 euros per day on top of an already significant rate to stay with breakfast. Breakfast was 19 euros pp - would go to a local cafe next time! And finally whilst we were there to attend a friends wedding there was - the night before the wedding (when ideally we wanted an early night to prepare for the following day) a very loud music festival with bands playing all around the hotel til 1.00 am !!! And nobody bothered to let us know this in advance! Would find somewhere else to stay next time. Very underwhelmed! If you are going to claim to be a 4 star establishment then offer 4 star facilities!

Very nice hotel in heart of Abbeville. We were here briefly midweek so relatively quiet There was a WW2 commemoration service the day we arrived so a lot of the free parking in town was cordoned off, so we chose the hotel interior car park. Well worth the piece of mind. Other reviews have said its quite tight - it could be but we did ok with a large 4X4. all dependant on how others park Room was very nice with a view out into town. Only downside was slow bar service (probably because we were the only ones in there on a wet evening0

Friendly staff nice reception, room very basic no milk in the room an stupid little paper cups to make a hot drink with, really let’s the hotel down as it looks such an exclusive hotel from the outside. It is very centrally located for access to the shops and restaurants.

As many others have said the Hotel is tired. It appears to be getting refurbished, but the work is of poor quality. Their real issue though is their front of house staff in the form of the older English lady (B) on Reception who is just unwelcoming & frankly rude. As long as she is a guests first point of contact you’re fighting a lost battle.

This is a disappointment. Tired doesn’t begin to describe this hotel, it’s also not very clean (being polite) if there had been somewhere else we would have moved. Definitely doesn’t uphold the Accor brand. Grumpy, poorly trained staff, everything was an effort - apart from the absolutely lovely Bev who retires soon and I dread to imagine the state of this hotel without her. Mercure in name but not in reality. Accor - spend the money and do the upgrade and pay for some decent staff!
