Prime Resort in an original Mexican Hacienda built originally about 400 years ago. The place was used to produce Sisal fibres of plants. The old machinery, including a steam engine, are still there to be seen during some free tours. Hotel rooms are first class, very high rooms, incredible spacy with warm interior out of an expensive country style design catalogue. Worth a longer stroll is the extensive garden around the property and the pool/SPA area which offers good views to the Hacienda’s buildings and the old Sisal production machines. The true burner, however, is the Restaurant which offers a good selection of local foods as good as it is only availabe in CDMX best restaurants. Also very positive are the motivated people working there.

Stunning hacienda, beautiful grounds, huge rooms with great amenities but the staff team really make the experience perfect. Incredible service, friendly staff. There is so much to do at hacienda - bird watching, cenotes, walking trails, enormous pool, spa and relaxation. Highly recommend for peaceful nights and relaxing days. We visited on the tail end of our Merida trip.

Stunning hacienda about an hour south of merida. Room are very nice. Service is 1st class from staff. The only thing I would suggest. I stayed the previous night at the other ihg property hacienda santa rosa. The menus at the on site restaurant seem to be the same. Some variety would be nice if someone was staying for an extended amount of time. Either way the food was pretty good.

The hacienda is located in a small village, it takes some driving to reach it from Merida (close to one hour). It’s a beautiful place, very well maintained and very much what you would expect when you think of a Mexican hacienda. Service is efficient and friendly. Unfortunately the rooms can be dark as they are located in old buildings that were not meant to become a hotel, and it is sligthly disappointing given the price. Overall, it’s a beautiful place, but too expensive given the remote location and the rooms being rather dark. The restaurant is good and not too expensive, which is important since there is no other place where to eat in the village. There’s also a beautiful swimming pool, very pleasant. There’s unfortunately not much to do/see around, apart from some cenotes, and Merida is almost a one hour drive.

We ate lunch here after visiting Uxmal in the morning and before going to the Mucuyche cenotes at the recommendation of a friend from Merida. That was a great day! We were the only ones in the restaurant when we visited in late May and had a great lunch in a beautiful setting on the veranda with a view of the pool. Definitely felt like we had stepped back in time with surroundings. Excellent food.

Hacienda is beautiful. It is grandiose, and relaxing. You will hear the birds chirping as you eat your quiet breakfast overlooking the large pool, and feel serene. Food in the restaurant was great - the servers were very kind and always aiming to please. I had overlooked the negative reviews when we booked thinking people were just being picky, but now that we went feel it’s worth stating that there really isn’t much to do here. We did 2 days, one of which we mostly spent at Chichen Itza (2 hours+ driving each way) and that was plenty. Other than that, there’s a pool, and a massage (not a full spa), or you can go for a walk on a poorly kept trail. The hacienda could use a little love to maintain the grounds a bit better. Theres a beaten down tennis court that isn’t usable, the walking trails need some work, the spa could offer some actual facilities, and the pool finish needs a face lift. Lastly - we did the presidential suite which was beautiful. But, the loud bird sqwaking throughout the night on that side of the hotel made it difficult to sleep. The beds are so comfy but we barely slept from the noise. The shower was also WAY too hard on pressure. Neither of us took a comfortable basic shower here. Impossible without feeling like you’re being hit by a paintball gun in sensitive areas while you’re trying to soap up! The private pool was also very unkept and cold (and almost dangerous with the rocks and stairs you have to take to get there) and we preferred the larger pool. This is the perfect place for someone who’s trying to find a quiet place to write a book, or read, or get work done, or simply be contemplative. However, if you can’t do that for more than a certain # of days without going nuts, then plan your stay accordingly. Two days here and moving to downtown Merida for the rest of our week was the perfect balance for us.

Great place to visit. Remote, relaxing, and staff is friendly, and full of smiles. The property is clean, and well kept. Visit the straw factory on property to take you back 300 years. Very peaceful and relaxing. We will be going back. Restaurant has great food also. With Yucatan ingredients.

I never write reviews but this hotel experience was so awful it warranted a review to help others avoid. It is overpriced and not luxury - expect bugs / bats in your room, leaks when it rains, poorly maintained property. Concierge never picks up the phone and when you are able to get through they don’t actually help you (good luck ever getting your room cleaned , and if you are ever able to get through to room service, be prepared for them not to deliver what you ordered). Staff doesn’t speak good English, which is fine as I speak Spanish, but would expect higher quality standards from what you pay for this hotel. It’s also I the middle of nowhere (not near town or anywhere), so if the concierge can’t deliver you are stranded. Please avoid at all costs. Way overpriced for a hotel that should cost maximum $50 a night, especially in Mexico.

In February, my husband and I spent several days at the Hacienda Temozon. We loved sitting on our terrace and relaxing. The staff was very accessible and helpful. The real highlight for us was the outstanding food. The meals were just great. We enjoyed meeting Rosura, one of the excellent chefs. Recently, I contacted Santiago Tapia, the resident manager. I wanted to talk with Rosi regarding her flan recipe. Santiago was extremely helpful and scheduled a conference call with Rosi. She patiently explained the ingredients and steps. Santiago clarified my questions and translated. As promised, the next day he sent me the recipe and preparation photos. I greatly appreciated the willingness of the Hacienda Temozon team to share with me their recipe. Thank you very much again.
