So the beds were like silk and the bed sheets did don’t fit the bed. The food gave people food poisoning and were sick all throughout the trip. The bathroom had no soap. The drain didn’t work for the shower so they gave you a brush to scrape the water down the drain. No shower curtain. The coffee didn’t taste like coffee. The milk was gloopy. It wasn’t a good trip for us.

Schön eingerichtetes Zimmer. Das Besondere war das hinter Schiebetüren versteckte Doppelstockhochbett. Die Kids fanden es suuper. Es sei wie in einem Hotel. Waschbecken usw. waren sauber und auch zwei vorhanden. Wir wurden morgens sogar gefragt, ob unser Bad eine Reinigung benötigt. Nachteil ist das nicht funktionierende WLAN und der kaputte Fernseher im Spiele und Aufenthaltsraum. (Da merkt man wieder dass man doch in Deutschland ist.) Dieser hatte nur einen Sender und Streifen im Bild. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Die Übernachtung in der Jugendherberge, diesmal in Aachen, bringt immer wieder Erinnerungen an die Jugendzeit zurück. Auch wenn ich heute ein Einzelzimmer mit Frühstück gebucht hatte, musste ich mein Bett selbst beziehen und wieder abziehen, was ich gerne getan habe. Was mich allerdings stört, ist, dass ich für die Übernachtung 76,94 € zahlen musste, ob in der Preisliste 56 € steht. Begründung "In Aachen ist gerade Weihnachtsmarkt". Ob das mit dem staatlich geförderten sozialen Auftrag, preiswerte Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten für sozial schwächere anzubieten, zu vereinbaren ist, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Das einzeln genutzte Vierbettzimmer war groß, ebenso wie der behindertengerechte Sanitärbereich, für den hohen Sonderpreis, wäre m.E. durchaus auch mal die Stellung eines Duschhandtuchs angemessen gewesen. Für den Übernachtungspreis bekommt man durchaus auch ein Mittelklassehotel im Aachener Umland. Das Frühstück ist Standard, viel Mühe auf besonders gesunde Produkte wurde nicht gelegt. Ich habe durchaus schon innovativere Jugendherbergen als Aachen gesehen!
