The train station and the cathedral are within walking distance, but it is very quiet. The grass slope and big trees outside the door are beautiful. The room is indeed small, and the breakfast is very rich. The price-performance ratio is very high, highly recommended.

The location is very good. The building is clean, but has only the bare necessities. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Arrived in Aachen by train and on getting to the concourse of the station there is a big sign above the front door telling you which way to go to the hotel - bonus!. A 5 minute walk and I was at there. Check in was friendly and efficient and I was quickly booked in and told about breakfast and where the bar/restaurant was. The room was a typical Ibis with a comfy bed, TV, some clothes storage and a reasonable sized bathroom with a good shower. Also had air con and an opening window. Breakfast had a good selection and was buffet style so you could fill up for the day for 10 euros. Had a few drinks in the bar which only had Bitburger lager on draught but it was well kept and reasonably priced. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly, efficient and was nice to be able to make myself understood even though I know very little german! They certainly made the stay better. The only down side for the stay was I was in a front facing room which was a little noisy with a main road next to it but if that bothers you ask for a room at the back. The only thing I didn't like was when I paid the bill my credit card was charged in UK pounds without being asked - very minor! Overall a good hotel at a very good price a short walk from the attractions Aachen has to offer - recommended

Friendly and clean hotel. Very comfy beds. Pillows a bit hard. One towel was dirty and it took 20mins and 2 calls for someone to come to change it. Despite Gold status they wanted 4,50 Euro for a water bottle! Sweets in the reception area for free. Beautiful Christmas tree. Sights within walking distance. Train station 5mins away. But 169 Euro for one night (Saturday-Sunday) are too much for an Ibis and should include the breakfast. But the breakfast here costs 15 Euro extra per person.

Comfortable rooms in good hotel approx 5 minutes from the station. Friendly staff. Great shower!

The most unwelcoming unhelpful Ibis ever. Check in we were kept waiting. Then the room had faulty lighting. Just a miserable team. Room poky Cleaning adequate but no more than that. Rooms on 4th floor small. Aachen is a lovely city. Well worth a visit.

Very basic hotel, smelly room, elevator didn’t work (free bottle of water as compensation (…..)) parking fully booked (fortunately good option to park nextdoor), single room although double room booked (one free beer as compensation). Anyway, two good things: close to city centre and very good breakfast!

I was a bit worried about this, because my last Ibis hotel experience was a disaster - admittedly, twenty years ago. However, this was fine. Clean rooms, their own carpark, nice restaurant nearby, within walking distance of the city centre.

Absolutely fantastic staff. Could not do enough for their customers. Checking them in, serving beers, serving food. Only 2 staff members on a busy F1 weekend. Very hard working, a credit to the brand. Thank you ladies

Chose the Ibis Marschiertor due to is location and on-site parking. Arrived earlier than expected but was allowed to park the car in the secure car park and check-in as there was a room available. The excellent receptionist then gave us a street map as we would be heading to the Christmas market later (approx. 10 min walk). Not luxurious but the room was comfortable, clean and overlooked the car park. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice.

Good location. A desk, chair and bench in the room. USB charger available. Nice bakery smell in the morning. Drainage in the shower was slow. Water spilled out quite easily. Duvet of the double bed was a bit small.
