Hôtel Premiere Classe Metz Technopole

Metz|5.16km from city centre

I’d liked to say I loved this hotel, but I can’t. Being a 400+ year old building on the historic list means there is little the owners can do to make major improvements. Check in was easy. Our room was in the annex a couple doors down from the main entrance. A few items leading to the room could stand to be refurbished, such as the stairs and carpet runner on them. Those same items however, gave the hotel character. The access the annex rooms one needed needed to pass through two doors, each requiring a code. The room was large and had an intimate and historic feel to it. The period style furnishings added to that feeling. Our room overlooked the cathedral. The bed was uncomfortable to us, but would be fine to others. The bathroom was actually two rooms. One had the toilet while the other had the sink and tub. This is somewhat common in this part of Europe and wasn’t the first room we’ve been in that had that setup. There was a hand held sprayer, but no shower curtain, so one needed to be careful of where it was pointed. It did have a kettle for boiling water, but no safe or small refrigerator. There is supposedly air conditioning, but after turning it on we didn’t notice a difference or even hear the fan blowing. An email from the hotel said one can stop in front to drop off luggage, then go to a nearby parking garage. The issue with that is, the hotel is in a restricted driving zone with bollards prohibiting entry. After trying a couple different ways, we just went to the parking garage that is a 4 minutes walk from the hotel. Parking is discounted for hotel guests. We opted to pay 12€ for breakfast. It was typical European and had plenty of fresh fruits and bread items, eggs, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, tea, juice, coffee. The hotel is located across from the cathedral and near plenty of restaurants. Also, the are two free shuttle busses (N81, N83) that go around different parts of the city. They are like a free hop on, hop off bus and run about every 15 minutes.

Hotel le Mondon
3.7/53 Reviews
The hotel is in an old house and it has several rooms on each floor. There is a lift. The reception is on the first floor. We had a room that was very small but good for one night, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom is very small but the shower is good, with soap dispenser. There is good wifi. Breakfast is rich and various. The location is perfect, few minutes’ walk from the centre. The staff is kind.
